OATMEAL
COOKIES
(Yield: 6 dozen)
½ cup butter or margarine, softened
½ cup sugar
½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
¼ cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup self-rising flour
¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
2 cups rolled oats
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray baking sheets with non-stick
vegetable spray.
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy;
beat in egg, water, and vanilla. Stir in flour, spices, and oats.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until a slight dent remains when the top
is pressed lightly. Remove from baking sheets; cool on a wire rack.
