WALNUT
CRISPS
(Yield: 2 dozen)
6 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 cups self-rising flour
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/3 cup semisweet chocolate morsels
1 egg, lightly beaten
Walnut halves
Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray baking sheets with non-stick
vegetable spray.
In a large mixing bowl, cut butter into flour until mixture resembles
coarse crumbs. Add sugar, walnuts and chocolate morsels. Stir
in egg until mixture forms a dough. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls,
1-inch apart, onto prepared baking sheets. Press a walnut half onto
each cookie.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until delicately browned. Cool on
a wire rack.
