WALNUT
MERINGUE KISSES
(Yield: 2½ dozen)
¼ cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 egg white
1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 cup finely chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 250°F. Spray cookie sheets with non-stick
vegetable spray.
In a small bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg; set aside.
In a medium bowl, beat egg white with cream of tartar until soft
peaks form. Gradually beat in sugar mixture until stiff peaks form.
Fold in walnuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls, about 1-inch apart, onto prepared
cookie sheets.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until dry. Remove from cookie sheets;
cool completely on a wire rack.
