Mr.
Paul Meek has generously allowed us to hold official club launches at
his ranch on pre-arranged dates and times only. Any other use is
strictl
y
prohibited. You must be a Hill Country Rocketeers member or an
invited guest to attend rocket launches at this location. The Meek Ranch is located on Alfred Petsch Road, off of State Highway 16, halfway between Kerrville and Fredericksburg. There are two rocket launch areas on the ranch, a large cow pasture, suitable for occassional high power rocket launches and a smaller grassy field, suitable for model rockets and some large model rockets. For the large field our FAA waiver is for 5,000 feet, with call ins to 8,000 feet. Both fields are covered with high grass and other "organic" material, boots and long pants are highly recommended. There are not restrooms near the fields but there are some trees and bushes. If you are coming from San Antonio, take Interstate Highway 10 West towards El Paso. Take Exit 508, the first Kerrville exit, and turn right in the direction of Fredericksburg. Go 10 miles. On the left, just past Delaware Creek is Alfred Petsch Road. The high power field is about one half mile up and on the right side of Alfred Petsch Road. The model rocket field is about a mile further and on the right. Follow the "Rocket Launch" signs once you get to the field. Please do not turn left off of Alfred Petsch Road (see the picture above and on the right). This driveway is private and does not lead to the rocket fields. Check the maps below for field locations. For
