My Appetizer Recipes
Chili Con Queso
1 lb. pasteurized process cheese spread, 1 - (16 oz.) can chili without beans, 4 green onions (chopped), 1 - (4 oz.) can chopped green chili peppers
Mix all ingredients in crock pot. Cover & cook on low 2-3 hours. Serve hot as a dip for corn or tortilla chips.
Curried Almonds
2 T melted butter, 1 T curry powder, 1/2 t seasoned salt. 1 lb. blanched almonds
Combine butter with curry & seasoned salt. Pour over almonds in crock pot & mix to coat well. Cover & cook on low for 2-3 hours. Turn to high. Uncover pot & cook for 1-1 1/2 hours.
Chili Nuts
1/4 c melted butter, 2 - (12 oz.) cans cocktail peanuts, 1 - (1 5/8 oz.) pkg. chili seasoning mix
in crock pot, pour butter over nuts: sprinkle in dry chili mix. Toss together. Cover pot & heat on low for 2 - 21/2 hours. Turn control to high. Remove top & cook on High For 10 - 15 minutes.
Creamy Salsa Dip
1 pkg. - (8 oz.) softened cream cheese, 1 c thick & chunky salsa
Mix cream cheese & salsa until well blended. Refrigerate. Serve with tortilla chip or spread on Ritz crackers & top with sliced black olives.
Italian Dip
1 - (16 oz.) container sour cream, 1 envelope Italian salad dressing mix
Mix sour cream & salad dressing. Refrigerate. Serve with bread sticks or assorted fresh cut-up vegetables.
Crab Spread
1 - (8 oz. pkg.) cream cheese, 1 - (4 oz.) can crab meat, 12/3 c chili sauce
Warm cream cheese to room temp. Add crab & chili sauce. Mix well Chill Serve with crackers.
Cheese Spread
1 - (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, 1 - (5 oz.) jar sharp cheese spread, 1 pkg. dry Ranch salad dressing mix
Mix softened cream cheese & cheese spread together well. Refrigerate. Serve with crackers.
Mexican Cheese Dip
1 - (1 lb.) pkg. pasteurized process cheese spread, 1 - (8 oz.) jar salsa
Cube cheese. Microwave cheese & salsa in 1 1/2 qt. bowl on high for 5 minutes or until melted, stirring after 3 minutes. Serve with warm tortilla chips.
Shrimp Dip
1 - (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, 1 - (8 oz.) container sour cream, 2 pkgs. Italian salad dressing mix, 2 cans tiny shrimp (drained), 2 t lemon juice, 1 med. sized green pepper finely chopped
Mix cream cheese & sour cream. Add all other ingredients & mix well. Refrigerate. Serve with crackers.
Taco Dip
1 - (16 oz.) container sour cream, 1 - (16 oz.) jar salsa, 1  pkg. taco seasoning mix
In a 1 1/2 quart bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well. Serve with tortilla chips.
