The Great Gatsby
ANDREW'S REVIEW

I chose this book from a teacher's recommendation, to do for an English project (creating this website). When I first started reading the novel, I couldn't get into it at all. I would have to put the book down to keep from falling asleep. Then all of a sudden I got to the middle portion of the book, and my interest arose. I began to enjoy reading the book. By the end, I was very much drawn into the actual story. I realized this when I started actually getting angry with Tom at how pathetic and immoral he was. At the same time, I would be sympathizing with Gatsby. Fitzgerald purposely writes this story this way, for the reader to take sides with certain characters. The story is one that could very likely happen, and many people can relate to parts of it such as with the jealously and the affairs taking place throughout the book. I think the book was overall pretty good. I wouldn't say it was the best novel I've ever read, but it was enjoyable. Fitzgerald's style of writing is wonderful. I would recommend this book to anyone.
