Dialogue/Feedback: Responses to my Publications
Links are posted here to response generated by some of my online publications, and my dialogue with the responders. Integral-ION members
NEW! The Four-Quadrant Model vs. The One-Scale Model This discussion, occurring at the Integral-ION site during February and March, 2002, grew out of responses to my article The Stage-Skipping Problem (see below). During that discussion, issues were raised over my views of holonic relationships vs. Wilber's, and further discussion revolved around these issues. The main contributor to this discussion besides myself was Avyorth Rolinson, though several other members of Integral-ION also weighed in with views. The discussion posted here picks up as the issues shift from the Stage-Skipping Problem to a comparison of my model and Wilber's model. The various posts are listed in chronological order. The name of each participant appears at the top of his message, and in that message, remarks attributed to someone else in a previous post are in quotes. Posted 6/27/02.
NEW! Responses to the Stage-Skipping Problem My article, The Stage-Skipping Problem , provoked many responses by members of the Integral-ION community, particularly Avyorth Rolinson, who had previously posted several pieces on the same subject in that forum. In this dialogue, the name of each participant appears at the top of his message, and in that message, remarks attributed to someone else in a previous post are in quotes. Posted 6/27/02
Sean Hargens
NEW! Morphic Fields and Holons Sean Hargens recently published a draft of paper still in progress, called "Morphic Fields as Interobjective Structures". This paper is available online in the files of the Integral-ION site. I wrote a response to that article, which began a lengthy exchange between Hargens and myself at the Integral-ION site in March and April of 2002. The entire dialogue is posted here (6/25/02).
Mark Edwards

My article A One-Scale Model of Holarchy and its Implications for Four Strand Theories of Knowledge Acquisition was a response to an online paper by Mark Edwards, The Integral Cycle of Knowledge . That dialogue continues with his response to my article, and my reply.
Jim O'Connor
Development in the One-Scale Model. A Unifying Theory? In this article, Jim discusses the possible organization of the transpersonal levels within the framework of the one-scale model of holarchy presented in Worlds within Worlds. He argues that the one-scale model can offer a view of development that incorporates the views of both Ken Wilber and Michael Washburn, as well as an explanation of the pre-trans fallacy. This article is also posted in the Reading Room of the World of Ken Wilber site (www.worldofkenwilber.com), where some of my comments on it appear in the footnotes. (25K words; posted 7/2/01)
Jim O'Connor provided some feedback on my book Worlds within Worlds, including some interesting comparisons of my model of holarchy with Wilber's. His comments and my reply are included here.
