Stimulation
Electrical brain stimulation involves the implantation of a mini computer
at the base of the brain. This is a relatively new procedure used for
spastic cerebral palsy.

The Baclofen Pump
The baclofen pump has shown mixed results in reliving spasticity. It
is implanted in the abdomen. This procedure is not recommended for Children.
Usualy Baclofen is given oraly for a test period to see if the patient
will respond well to the drug and that it will reduce the spastisty.
Baclofen can have side effects including drowsiness, dizziness, and
balance problems, and in high doses heart and kidney problems and breathing
problems.
