They Say It's Your Birthday |

O-Town, from l-r: Erik-Michael Estrada, Jacob Underwood, Trevor Penick, and the stars of the story...Dan Miller and Ashley Parker Angel |
Last update (if you want to call it that), I mentioned my obsession with that "other" boy band out right now. It freaks me out a lot about how much I've fallen for them in less than two months, but it scares my friends even more. Jai (the Queen Of Evil herself) challenged me to write a slash fic of them with one requirement...that it was a Dan/Ashley (my two favorite members) story. It took me a while to get a hang of it, but after she named it Dashley and found pictures of them, I did it! The setting is August 1, 2001...which is Ashley's 20th birthday. They happen to have a concert that day in Cleveland, Ohio...Dan's hometown (almost...he's from Twinsburg, but that's not too far away). Hope you enjoy the story! |
Twenty years old. Unbelieveable. Who would have pictured me as a star by the time I turned twenty? Who would have also thought I'd be so lonely today? I wish Emily was here. It's hard celebrating without her. But he's here. What I wouldn't give to celebrate with him tonight. It's too bad we're in Cleveland. His home. All of his friends and family will be there. Aunts. Uncles. Cousins. Classmates. Cindy. And after the show he'll take her up to his room. They'll make out, and she'll take his shirt off, revealing his built upper torso. Then she'll undo his belt, lowering his pants. Finally, she'll reach into his... *Knocking on the door* "Ashley? The bus leaves in half an hour. If you're not up by now, it's time to get ready." "Okay, Andrew. Thanks." Fuck off, too. Every time I start picturing him naked, someone has to interrupt the fantasy. Looks like it's time to face reality. And him. This is going to be a long day. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "Hey, birthday boy. What's happening?" "Not much, man." Now move, Erik. You're blocking my view. "Did you talk to your family yet?" "Yeah, they called me last night after midnight out here. My mom did her usual joke about how she was in labor with my sister and me when MTV debuted." "She does that?" "Unfortunately." "Think of it this way...next year you'll be legal and able to go partying. It's not as fun without you and Dan." Oh, lord, did you have to go and mention him? "Yeah, but Dan will be twenty-one next month. Then I'll be left out." "Right, Ashley. You really think he'd go out without you?" That doesn't mean he'd go out with me, either. Whatever, I need to get off this subject. "So where are the other guys?" "Dan's watching TV, Trevor is sleeping in his bunk, and I think Jacob's on the phone with Gretchen...again." "Again? Man, they have to talk at least three times a day!" It must be nice to be in a relationship like that. "I know. That's what he gets for dating some random chick that comes to our Meet & Greet. ANyway, I better leave you alone. Think of tonight's concert as just a hugebirthday party for you." Yeah, Erik, except for the one guest who doesn't want to be there. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "...And all it was was a pocket full of nothing but a suicidal gun, if you call that love then love should be a...you okay, Ash?" "For the millionth time, Jacob, I'm fine." And leave me the hell alone. "No, you're not. Especially for someone turning twenty." *Sighs* "Fine. I'm feeling lonely today, okay?" "Whoa. That I can understand. I miss Gretchen all the time, and I'm always counting the days until we see each other again." "That's what I mean. I want what you have. I want someone to love." "Oh. Have you spoken to Shelli lately?" *Shakes head* "I think we're through for good." Thank God, you don't know how many problems I've had with her, especially after I started thinking about... *Voice coming from the hallway* "Dan!" Shit. "Hey Cindy, what's up?" "Nothing. You look great!" "Thank you. So do you." "We'd be the same way if we were back home, Ash." *Stares at Jacob* "This is not our Dan, though. Business dies when he decides to have fun." "You expect him to actually go out tonight? We have a show tomorrow, not to mention it's your birthday?" *From hallway* "Hey, I've got to get ready for sound check. I'll see you tonight, okay?" "Okay. Have fun, and good luck tonight!" "What was that you said, Jacob?" "Hey, sorry man. Maybe we underestimated him again." "Yeah. We better make our way to the stage, too. You think Mike and Mike would be happy if we were late?" "Not at all. Hey, Ash?" *Turns from doorway* "Yeah, man?" "Happy birthday." *Smiles* "Thanks, Jake." But not quite anymore. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "...With a simple telephone call you leave me here with nothing at all....oooh." Damn it, why does he make that note sexier every night? "How are we feeling tonight, Cleveland?" How do you think, Trevor? Their favorite son is home, ignoring all of us and showing them how big of a star he's become, when it was our decision to let him into the group. "Come on guys, you can do better than that. This is my hometown! Let's show our Cleveland spirit!" I swear, he can read my mind. Or sometimes I wish he could. "Anyway, this is a special day for all of us, not just Dan. Our own little brother Ashley is celebrating his twentieth birthday today. What better present could we give him than having all of you sing to him?" I could think of lots of better presents, most involving the brunette standing next to you. "How about it? Are you all ready?" Oh please, God, no. "Happy birthday to you..." Maybe I should start thinking about the next song. "Happy birthday to you..." He's a special boy, with his own money, job, and credit cards, a sexy boy... "Happy birthday dear Ashley..." Wait a second...why isn't he singing? He's just standing there staring at me! What's wrong? "Happy birthday to you!" Damn, now it's over and I have to speak. Can't I just stand here watching him? "Uh, thanks everyone. You guys are making this one of the best birthdays ever!" What a fucking lie, Angel. Far from it, you mean. "So what did you wish for, Ashley?" "Like I would tell you Trevor." "Was it me?" Very funny, Erik-Michael. "You'll have to wait and see, won't you?" It's too bad the one I did wish for doesn't notice. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* I hate you, Dan Miller. You blew off my party to hang with friends. How could you fucking do that to me? You can spend time with them whenever you come home, but you can't celebrate a band mate's birthday? I am so sorry I wanted you to replace Ikaika. *Knocking on door* "Ashley? You still up?" This better be good. *Opens door* "What do you want? I thought you were out with your friends?" "I was. I just wanted to thank them for coming by taking them to a club." Now if that isn't weird. You went to a club? Without us? "But I wanted to come back and give you your birthday present, too." Present? "Really, Dan, you didn't have to buy me anything. None of the other guys did." *Leans in* "Neither did I." *Kisses Ashley* Oh my God! This is even better than I imagined! *Pulls away* "What did you think?" "I...I..." "I've wanted to do that forever. Ever since I flew down to Orlando for my second audition, I've had a crush on you. Now...I think it's grown into love." "Really? What about Cindy?" "She knew everything after we broke up. I couldn't even face you because of how I felt, but Cindy told me that it would all turn out okay." "It's not okay, Dan." "What?" "It's perfect." *Kisses Dan* "I love you." "I love you, too. Happy birthday, Ashley." It certainly is. Back |
