The Man Who Ruined My Life |

I hate you, I hate you, I...no wait...I love you! |
Believe it or not, there was actually a time where I liked one boy band. Yes, for three years, I was (and still am) a Backstreet girl. I wanted to be Mrs. Brian Littrell (lucky Leighanne!). Then a little thing called No Strings Attached came out, and I fell in love with two certain boys from Mississippi and Maryland. I thought that BSB and *NSYNC would be the only groups I could put up with. Boy was I wrong. Let me just say that I NEVER watched Making The Band when it first started. No O-Town for me. The concept of the show threw it all away for me (along with some mild *coughWORSEcough* hatred for Lou Pearlman). When "Liquid Dreams" came out, I could have cared less. My online friends renamed the song "Solid Realities". O-Town did nothing for me. Then I left school and moved back home. I started spending lots of time with my best friend again. And she had become a big O-Town fan. Her favorites were Ashley and Jacob. We had to listen to their CD all the time. I, being the nice girl that I am, went along and listened to them against my will. My opinions about them didn't change. Until the two words came out of her mouth about which guy would be perfect for me.... Dan Miller I didn't know if I should have trusted her on this. When I started liking *NSYNC, she said that my favorite should be Lance (thus noticing my obsession with him). But one of the guys in O-Town? A group I wasn't even fond of? Three more words. All Or Nothing. The song grew on me. A lot. Even after "Pop" came out, I was listening for this instead. So then I started really listening to their CD. And a lot of their songs were pretty good! Mainly about horny males, but still...they had some decent vocal abilities. Then it hit me..."Dan has a GREAT voice!" And when I started looking at pictures of him? I was gone. Next came learning things about him...he's from Ohio (bonus points!), was the last one in the group (like Brian and Lance), and sang in the show choir in high school (I had a big thing for show choir guys!) After that, I bought both the CD and concert tickets (much to my dismay), and my entire vacation was spent listening to O-Town. Funny. In the span of six weeks, I went from dissing O-Town to wanting to marry one of them. And it didn't stop there. I watched MTB. I bought the Dr. Dolittle 2 soundtrack for their new song "We Fit Together" (one of my favorites). And the night of the concert was probably the best one of my life. O-Town rocked the stage all night. And Dan? He ruled it all. I have since learned to love the other members too, though they may not be as equal. I think that Ashley is very cute and talented. Jacob surpassed my expectations at the concert and moved near the top of my list. And Trevor has the body and the voice. The verdict's still out on Erik.... Dan has grown up a lot since the cut to the final 8. From this 19 year old who was only trying to look up information to get on The Real World (hey, wouldn't it be funny if someone wrote a story with the guys from *NSYNC on there?) to the almost-legal-aged (on September 4th) power of the group... |

AFTER: Oh my LORD! What I wouldn't want to do to that tongue.... |
Yes, I realize that it's hopeless that I will ever meet him. But as the site's name says, Angels Can Only Dream.... Sincerely, Stephanie Miller (yes, I'm a teeny...but that's another story...) Back |
