A Day At The Mall |
"Good morning, boys!" the bouncy blonde called out while walking into the kitchen. "Um, who are you and what have you done with the real Janie?" Erik asked, not looking up from his bowl of cereal. Trevor laughed. "She's probably still in bed with Jacob...you know she has to send a replacement out after she fulfills his 'liquid dreams'." "Fuck you, Penick." "Now?" Janie rolled her eyes. "Guys, you know I'm here because it's our anniversary today. And I figured that the best way for me to go out and get Jake a present would be if I snuck out while he's sleeping...so, who wants to go shopping with me?" "Not me," Trevor said, while Erik shook his head. "Oh well, I guess that only leaves two other possibilites..." Janie said, staring at the other two men sitting at the table. Ashley and Dan looked up from the notebook they were writing in. "No way!" Ashley said. "You can go without any of us." "He's right, Janie. You're 21, isn't it about time you did things by yourself?" Dan added in. "But boys..." she whined, pouting. "We started dating eleven years ago and I want to make sure he gets the best present ever." Ashley looked over at Dan, who was staring right at him. "Well...I guess we'll go." "Great!" she said. "Meet you two outside in half an hour, okay?" "An hour." "An hour? Why? Jacob will probably be up by then." Dan smiled. "Of course an hour. You know by now how long it takes Ashley to get ready." "Oh yeah. Then an hour it is," Janie said, walking out of the room. While Trevor and Erik started fighting over who would get the last of the cereal, Ashley shot a quick smile at Dan. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Janie pulled into the crowded parking lot. "Here we are boys!" "You ready?" Dan whispered while they were getting out of her car. "More than ever," Ashley answered. The three of them walked up to the doors which Janie held open for the guys. Once inside, she saw the oddest thing...they were holding hands. "Um, boys? What exactly do you think you're doing?" Ashley giggled. "Sweetie, do you know what she's talking about?" Janie stopped in her tracks. "Sweetie?" she thought. "I think she means where are we going to look for Jacob's present, baby," Dan said. "Baby? Now I"m confused." "Baby, this shirt would look absolutely fabulous on you!" he continued. "Really? I don't know...green's not exactly my color." "Of course it is. It accents your hair. Why don't you go try it on?" "Don't try it on, Ashley," Janie interrupted. She then grabbed both of the boys' hands and walked in between them to the music store. Once there, however, they went back to their game. "Hey sweetie, here's that new *NSYNC CD you wanted for your birthday!" Ashley said. Dan looked up from the CD rack. "Really? I love them all so much. Isn't Lance just a cutie?" "Nah, JC is more my type. But do you really think they're together?" "Of course they are. They're made for each other, just like us." "Oh lord, they are not going there," Janie thought. She figured that ignoring them would be the best bet. "Hey Janie!" "What, Ashley?" she replied, not looking at him. "Do you think Jacob would like this guitar?" She turned around. "Yes he would! Thank you for finding it!" "Really, Dan was the one that found it. You should thank him." The brunette looked at him. "No way, baby, it was your idea. I wanted to buy it for you!" "You're kidding. That's so sweet of you!" "Ashley Angel and Daniel Miller, what the HELL are you two doing?" Janie screamed. The customers in the store stopped what they were doing to stare at her. She was relieved that there were no teenyboppers around, but turned bright red. She then grabbed the guitar, took it up to the cash register to pay for it, and left the store, making sure the boys were following her and not caring what kind of act they were putting on now. Once in the car, Janie turned to them. "Why did you guys act like that today? Did you really think it was fun embarrassing me by pretending you were gay?" "We're sorry, Janie," Dan said. Ashley agreed. "We won't pretend like that again. We just thought it would be fun to throw people who thought we were O-Town off." She rolled her eyes. "I don't get you two." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "Wow Janie, where in the world did you find this?" Jacob asked when he saw his anniversary present. "At the mall. But Ashley and Dan saw it first and thought it would be perfect for you," she answered while looking at the two guys sitting across the room. "This is incredible. Thanks guys!" he told them. Ashley smiled. "Any time, Jake!" Jacob turned back to Janie. "Your present is upstairs. You coming with me?" "Why not?" They got up and left the room, leaving Dan and Ashley by themselves. "Well, that was fun today," Dan said. "I know. But what do you think will happen when we tell them the truth?" "Let's not worry about that right now, and just worry about us." The two men leaned in for a kiss. "I love you, baby." "Love you too, sweetie." Back |
