Christian Kane's Bio
Born in Dallas, Texas, Chris Short, who would later take the stage name Christian Kane, moved throughout the south while growing up because of his father's work in the oil business, eventually settling into the small town of Norman, Oklahoma. After attending the University of Oklahoma, where he majored in art history, Kane headed for L.A. in his truck with only a duffel bag and his $300 life savings. He found work in the film industry as a production assistant and in the mailroom at a talent management company. While rushing to auditions between package deliveries, Kane landed the lead male role in Fame L.A., a spin-off of the hugely successful 80s movie and TV series, Fame.
Fame L.A. aired an astounding 22 episodes in syndication between October 1997 and March 1998. MGM chose not to produce any more episodes of the series, but Kane immediately found other work. In the wake of ER's success, the WB network decided to try a series about a Los Angeles-based fire department called Rescue 77. Kane landed the role of Wick Lobo. Unfortunately, Rescue 77 suffered an even worse fate than Kane's first series, lasting only two months before cancellation.
Meanwhile, Kane premiered on the big screen in the small role of a production assistant in Ed TV. A few months later he guest starred on the first episode of the WB series Angel, playing a lawyer for Wolfram & Hart. Kane immediately jumped into another project, co-starring in the Tom Selleck western Crossfire Trail, set to air on television later this year.
Kane once dated Linda Brava who, according to sources, broke up with him in April 1998. Linda is a Finnish violinist who guest-starred on an episode of Fame L.A. as Marcus's love interest. An accomplished country music performer, Kane enjoys writing, performing, and recording country music when not acting. He currently lives in Los Angeles.
