In memory of my Grandpa...
(Published in my hometown's newspaper after his death)

Grandpa to me
Husband to thee
Soldier straight and tall.
But that is not all
Some called him Dad
Many friends he had.
But he is not gone forever you see.
In heaven above, surrounded by love
Smiling, running, laughing and funning.
He waits for you and me.

Blue
(in loving memory)

Often we watched him run and play.
"The Black Stallion" we called him.
Like a big horse he acted
--a Miniature? Not him!
He was so cheerful, so playful.
"Spitfire" I called him.
Maybe he wasn't graceful
or eye-catching
But to those
who knew him,
the best of them all
was a little black horse
named Blue!

Friends
By Alicia & Kelly, 1994

Everyone needs a friend
You may have 3 or 4 or even more
For this love shall never end.
Though it has tore, it will soar;
Never lose your dearest friend.
Some may move; still don't lose:
A letter you can send.
Never leave your friend to an end-
You must mend.
If she is sick,
be faithful, you must tend.
For through the hardest times,
you must be the dearest friend.
