Hit Us Where We Live

This is another simple, but annoying raging debate. The problem with this issue is that it sounds good, until you realize the misconceptions start at a very fundamental issue: Creation or Evolution. God or Cosmic Chance. Divine Plan or Any-Moment-Now-We-Could-Fall-Apart. You get the idea.
Even if you ignore all the religious questions, there are the common sense issues. Just to pull some examples:
1. Global Warming [is a crock]. Obviously, another fear-oriented conspiracy. Ignore the fact that God doesn't plan on baking His people into a lasagna anytime soon, and there is still the all-glorified Scientific proof. Or, if you prefer, the lack of Scientific proof that global warming exists at all. The reason Global Warming got it's notorious rep, is because the United Nations is another crock.
2. We have our own oil. The Middle East is in an uproar. We need our oil. We get our oil from the Arabs in the Middle East. The Arab side is not the side we should (or will) be on when push comes to shove. Sounds like a problem, doesn't it? Here's another couple of facts for you. There is an incredible natural oil source in Alaska. Alaska is part of the United States. Hmm. Sounds like a solution, doesn't it. Even more: The liberal enviornmentalists don't anyone drilling in Alaska. The United States Senate has refused to let anyone drill in Alaska. What are we, stupid? Now, now, let's be fair and listen to what the enviornmentalists have to say. Drilling in Alaska will harm the natural wildlife. Drilling in Alaska will harm the animals who make the area their home. Awww. Is it true? Several studies were done. Of course, we all know how subjective these Senate studies can be, but overall, the more neutral studies show that the type of drilling suggested would have negligable effect on the habitat. Just what is the habitat, anyway? A videotape made of the precise area shows something far from the lush wild the enviornmentalists would have to believe. Unfortunately, the enviornmentalists have friends in high places and a Democratic congress on their side. After all, it sounds so sad to kick the Alaskan animals out of their homes just so we can have cheaper, safer oil. I wonder what people will say when we end up with an oil crisis on our hands? I doubt if anyone will be pointing fingers at the enviornmentalists or the Senate. But just in case, these people already have a campaign going that blames it all on SUVs.
This earth isn't going to last forever. But it doesn't have to, because God has plans to give us a new earth, not a crappy re-glued one. The earth and all the plans and animals on it was given to us at creation by the only One who had any right to give it. Genesis 1:26-30 Let us take our rights back in our hands.
Conspiracy!
So there!
