A unique oppurtunity to stay in a traditional Tonga stilt-hut overlooking a quiet bay of Lake Kariba. Birdlife is abundant, crocidiles and hippos also share the water, elephants are found in the hills along with baboons.
You will be cared for by a local family MWIINDE - but will need to be quite self sufficient - this includes bringing your own sleeping gear, food and boiling your own water. A small shop is nearby, and fresh vegies can be bought from the locals - binga offers a supermarket.
The rates are economical and long stays can be arranged for free - if you are willing to help with the daily management.
Although remote, the setting is only 7km from Binga town, and a mere 15min walk from a long distance bus stop. Direct buses from Bulawayo, Harare, Hwange and Victoria Falls. Be sure to tell the bus conductor you want to drop off at chilangililo/chilila.
