Kyande quivered a moment, shooting a look back at Katera's body. Taking two running steps forward she cupped her hands at her mouth and shouted, " Dammit, Vejiita! Get a hold of yourself! You can do better than that!! "
" No, " Piccolo contradicted, his voice rough. Kyande looked at him, startled. Piccolo never turned his gaze from Freezer but told her, " Vejiita's aim is right on, but Freezer dodges everytime; he's antisipating his moves. "
Kyande tried to say something in response, something comforting, something... but found herself at a loss for words. She'd told enough lies.
Suddenly Vejiita stopped blasting, he hung in the air and glared at Freezer. His mind raced through a hundred thousand plans of action, but each fell short at one fact; no matter what, Freezer was stronger than him. There was nothing he could do. Short of becoming a Super Saiyajin, he could not defeat Freezer.
This knowledge loosened his fists, and he lowered his head, casting his features in shadows.
He'd lost; he'd lost everything.
Such was the end of the mighty Saiyajin.
Kyande dropped to her knees on the ground and smacked a fist against the dirt. " Kuso... "
[trans. => damn]
Suddenly Freezer moved, catching Vejiita in the gut with his knee and in the same motion elbowing him between the shoulder blades. Vejiita's armor fractured in both places. Freezer brought his long, serpentine tail up to thwack Vejiita in the nose. Vejiita jerked upwards from the blow, and his head snapped back. Freezer wrapped his tail around the prince's exposed neck and squeezed. Vejiita choked, spraying the air with spittle as he gasped for a breath that never reached his lungs.
With Vejiita in his grip, Freezer descended down towards the ground, landing not far from where Kyande and the others stood frigid.
" Aren't any of you going to, " Freezer had to break off as a derisive snigger interrupted his words, " help him? " He tilted his head as no answer came. " No? " He laughed again cruelly. Drawing Vejiita closer he whispered in the suffering prince's ear, " You see, even your own people can see what a worthless cause you are fighting, Vejiita. Now that Katera's gone, I'm giving you one last chance to come back to me. "
Eventually, Vejiita was able to rasp, " Never... again... " Vejiita's whole body quivered with effort as he forced out the words, " Ka... ka... rrot... Kyande.... s-said....... he.. was... the... Den... setsu... no...... Super ... Saiyajin. "
Freezer's mouth curved in amusement. " A Super Saiyajin? I thought that was supposed to be you. "
Kyande could see where Vejiita likely got his insulting ability from. She shot a glance at Gokuu, who was looking to be about two millimeters from the breaking point. He wanted to help Vejiita. He wanted to help him now.
Kyande bit her lip. Oh, Kami... what if Gokuu wouldn't become the Super Saiyajin? What if she'd completely ruined the entire universe by thwarting Gokuu's destiny?
Look at him, her mind commanded despairingly, He doesn't even realize the potential within him. How had he found it even without her meddling?
Freezer, she realized. It had to be Freezer. Something Freezer had said or done in the orignal timeline had set Gokuu off. He'd done something to turn the gentle hearted man standing next to her into the seething embodiment of violence itself.
But what could possibly make Gokuu so angry...?
Freezer pulled a fist and buried it deep within Vejiita's back. The prince groaned. As Freezer punched again, his mouth opened in a silent scream that shattered Kyande's last nerves. She broke down and began to cry, sitting on the Namekian grass. Vejiita's suffering reached her ears in muffled blows and cries stiffled by suffocation. Her tears soaked the ground beneath her.
Freezer looked over at her and smiled.
Gokuu's gaze darted between Vejiita and Kyande, the chain reaction resulting from the tyrant's cruelty. This was beyond anything he'd ever experienced. He'd never known such... such heartlessness existed. It was inconceivable. Freezer was, was heartless, but this didn't fit into Gokuu's view of the universe. It Just. Wasn't. Possible!
Gohan's hand suddenly rested on Kyande's shoulder. She looked up at the boy in surprise. He offered her a smile.
" Daijoubu, Kyandesan, " he said lightly, " Otousan will take care of everything. "
" Soo desu, so I will, " added Gokuu. The fighter took a step forward and called, " Stop it. "
[Soo desu = Yes {is an approximate translation}]
Freezer turned his head ever so slightly to look from Kyande to Gokuu. " Are you challenging me? "
Vejiita weakly managed out, " Ka... ka... rrot... " before Freezer's fist buried into his back again. The name trailed off in a gargling as just as the air couldn't enter Vejiita's lungs, neither could the blood leave.
Gokuu looked at the prince, then back at Freezer in jerky movements that betrayed how much he was loosing his composure. To Freezer he said, " Yes, I challenge you! "
Kyande looked up at him and hiccuped. " Gokuu... I don't... I don't think you're ready! "
Gokuu looked back at her. " I'm ready. " He turned back to Freezer. " Let Vejiita go! "
" Sure, " Freezer agreed idelly, tossing Vejiita with a slight movement of his tail. The Saiyajin no Oji hit the rock outcropping next to Gokuu, then crumpled to the ground. Landing on his back, Vejiita gasped painfully, taking his first breath in what felt like eternity. Freezer turned to face Gokuu and invited serenely, " Come and get me. "
Gokuu had taken but one step forward when Vejiita stayed him.
" Kakarrot, wait... wait and hear what this monster did... did to... our people. "
Gokuu looked down at the prince with a strangely stony expression. " I don't care what he did to the Saiyajin. "
Vejiita choked, blood running from his mouth. He was dying, but he couldn't without making him see-- " No, you do. I know you care! That's the problem, Kakarrot! If you're going to fight him, you're going to have to stop caring. You can't... can't treat him the way... you treated me and... Ka... tera. He destroyed... everything. Everything, Kakarrot! My father, your father... everyone, and we did nothing to him. We did... everything he asked... of us. But... he was afraid... afraid that... that a Super Saiyajin... would rise and... defeat... him... "
" Bah, " scoffed Freezer, " more of that stupid legend. "
" Please, Kaka... rrot... if you... are what Kyande... says... then... use that power to... to... kill him! "
Gokuu's tone softened, " Please be quiet Vejiita, you're only wearing yourself out. "
Vejiita quivered, whether it was from anger or fatigue (perhaps both) Kyande couldn't tell. But the prince got up onto his elbows and enforced, " No! Listen to me! Show him no... mercy... Show him no mercy as he will show you none! You hear me, Kakarrot! " Tears streaked the prince's face, and soaked the ground beneath him, " He killed Katera... he killed the... only... good in my... life. He killed her first... be... cause she defied him. She saw him... for... what he... really was... and I was blind to it... to it all! Open your... eyes... Kakarrot... open your... eyes and kill... Free... zer... with the... power he so... fears... "
Freezer's face pinched and he raised his hand. With one powerful pulse of his ki, Freezer shot Vejiita through the heart. Vejiita gasped one last time, and his elbows slipped from beneath him. He hit the ground, throwing up a small cloud of dust. In a final tribute to the Saiyajin no Oji, tears shed for his people-- one of his few unselfish acts-- faded from the ground.
There was silence for a moment. A time of mourning.
Then Kyande's tears began anew. " IIEEEEE!! " she screamed. Stumbling to her feet, she took a few running steps towards Vejiita and fell to her knees next to the body. Choking on her sobs, and the dust she'd thrown up, Kyande wrapped her arms about her as tears shed for the prince replaced those he'd shed. Taking a few calming breaths that on some level failed, Kyande murmured, " I feel sick. This is wrong! This is all so wrong! " She sobbed again, her shoulders shaking with the force of her grief, " I hated you, and now I'm sorry! Sorry for everything! I, I knew you were supposed to die, and maybe this is how you were supposed to. But that doesn't make it right! So... wrong. " Kyande opened her eyes and looked through her tears at the blurred image of Vejiita. " I'm sorry, for all my mistakes. But I will avenge them. I'll stop this monster if it takes all my power to do so. I might be stuck in this timeline... I've come to realize that. My only hope is finding the Sarro in this dimension... but as things stand none of us are leaving Namekusei alive. So that makes me the Densetsu no Super Saiyajin. " Kyande glared past Vejiita, her face darkened in rage. " I'll show Freezer a silly myth... "
Freezer, who hand't lowered his hand since killing Vejiita, narrowed his eyes and fired another powerful ki blast that shot Kyande right through. Kyande's resulting scream died out in a gargling in her throat. Before everyone's disbelieving eyes, Kyande's own eyes went dead and she fell foward onto Vejiita's body.
Gokuu watched as her blank face hit the dirt and cried, " Kyandechan! "
" Hmmph, " Freezer sniffed, finally lowering his hand, " I swear, you Saiyajin just don't know when to stay silent. There's no such thing as a Super Saiyajin. "
Gohan and Piccolo stared in shocked despair. Dende began to cry.
Gokuu was beyond that. His mind was running through all the memories he had the of the short time he'd known the girl. How she'd saved his friends, saved his son, saved him... she'd done so much...
Vividly it returned to him, a memory of sitting outside the Capsule Corporation building. It seemed like such a long time ago. Kyande had giggled at him trying to figure out where to put her kanji. He had nothing to remember her by. Nothing but memories, and the training, and faith she had put into him.
But that wasn't enough!
" Kyandechan! "
How could Freezer be so cruel: so as to destroy an innocent life when she'd been no threat to him! How?! This was... everyone was right. Freezer was a monster the universe had to be rid off, and Gokuu was the only one left to do it.
Gokuu's anger had begun to come out in a long yell reminiscent of Vejiita's growling. Katera, Vejiita, Kyande, all dead! Dead! At the hands of this monster: this evil. It could not, would not be tolerated. Who was to be next? Piccolo? Dende? Gohan?!
Finally Gokuu threw his head back, screaming to the heavans with all his rage. His hair shot up into a frozen flame of gold and he concluded yelling sometime after that. The rage remained, and he looked at Freezer with cold, hard, unyeilding eyes like set emeralds.
Freezer lost his composure and gaped.
Dende let out a cry of fright and clutched at Piccolo's pantleg. Gohan took a step back from his father, his eyes wide with awe and fright.
" I, " said the magnifiscent creature standing within a writhing aura of angry gold, " am Son Gokuu, the Densetsu no Super Saiyajin. "

" Um... " said Kyande, looking this way and that at the oni staring at her. Finally she let out what had become her trademark nervous giggle, and looked up at Lord Enma, " I'm going to Kaiousei! Sayonara! "
She began running, right.
Lord Enma cleared his throat. " Kyande, " he called. She stopped and looked back at him. He blinked at her. She blinked at him. Finally he pointed to Kyande's left and stated, " Kaiousei is that way. "

" So, " said Freezer, regaining his composure, " the legend is true, or so it seems. The Densetsu no Super Saiyajin. "
Gokuu responded not, just glared across the battlefield at the only creature to ever make him truly angry.
Freezer smirked. " Shall we proceed? " he asked, nodding towards the two dead bodies next to Gokuu, " Or are you all talk and no action like your friends there? "
Gokuu made an inarticulate sound of anger, and in an instant-- before Freezer could so much make a move in defense-- Gokuu had him flying.
Freezer hit the ground on his back, and dug a trench with the impact. Sitting up with a groan, the tyrant pressed a hand to his bruised cheek and looked to the creature who had done this to him.
Gokuu stood poised, where Freezer had previously been. His fist was still curled, his body still following through the motion of punching Freezer. He looked over his bicep (and what a bicep! Sorry, Jadechan-type comment ^_^) at his enemy with narrowed emerald eyes.
Freezer met those eyes with his own and growled. He got to his feet, his lips pulled back in an angry snarl. No one... No one did that to him.
" You do pack quite the punch, " Freezer complimented. He then let all his outrage darken his face and added, " But it's the last you'll ever throw! "
With those words, Freezer dug another trench for himself. This one ran the rest of the island's length and deposited him in the water. Gokuu watched the water silently, as of yet he still hadn't said a word.
It was eerie, Piccolo found himself feeling a chill as he watched the battle go on. Gokuu had never been the silent type, not by far. But now, now, Gokuu was incredible. Piccolo's face spread into a rueful grin, he wouldn't mind trying that power out himself sometime.

" Neh, " Gohan commented, " Otousan seems to be doing much better than in this timeline. "
Sarro cocked her head to the side. " He also reached the power much earlier. There isn't so much of his energy expended trying to defeat Freezer without the required power.
" Keep in mind as well that Freezer has yet to get angry, or regain his footing as it is. Freezer is, was, a formidable enemy, not just for his power, which certainly would have been enough, but for the calculating mind he also possessed. This was a creature practically born for cruelty. He knew exactly how to toy with his opponents, and I don't know about this timeline, but until this point, he still hadn't shown Gokuu all of his power. "
Vejiita snorted, " This is going to take forever. "
Cheerily, Sarro commented, " Well, we've made it this far! "

Kyande reached the end of Snake Way and without so much as a preparatory motion, leaped up to Kaiousei and landed, much to the surprise of everyone on the planet, right next to Kaiousama's car.
" Hey, " she greeted.
" Ah, " Kaiousama broke off his observation of the events on Namekusei to observe the new arrival, " so you're that Kyande girl. "
" Yup, " Kyande answered, slightly out of breath. " I would have been here sooner, but for some reason the Ginyuu Force was on their way here so I had to kick them all off into Hell, then some snake chick tried to seduce me and that was just a little too kinky for me so, I had to brush her off and she got so mad she tried to eat me and I was almost run over by a street cleaner and the whole time I was worried about Gokuu so, " she clapped her hands resolutely, " how are things on Namekusei?! "
" Uh, " Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Kuririn, and Chaou-zu all blinked at each other, at a loss for words.
Kaiousama, who had fallen over somewhere around the Ginyuu Force comment, got up using the car for support and peered intently at Kyande. " First of all, do you have any idea what you've done?! "
Kyande looked uncertain, " Which? "
" Gokuu and Freezer! "
" Oh, that. "
" YES, THAT!! YOU'VE SEALED GOKUU'S FATE, YOU REALIZE THAT?! " Kaiousama hollered in her face.
Kyande blinked. " Yeah, I know. Has he gone Super Saiyajin yet? "
Kaiousama stared at her in disbelief. " Has he... is that all you care about?! "
Kyande grabbed the little Kaiou by the collar and lifted him to her level. " Gokuu going Super Saiyajin is the first step to me getting out of this horrid little timeline! Now answer me! Has Gokuu Gone Super Saiyajin Yet?! "
Kaiousama adjusted his glasses. " Um, yes. "
" Hontoo?! " Kyande grinned and dropped him, " Sugoi! "
[trans. Really?! Great!]
When Kaiousama got to his feet, Kyande clamped a hand on his shoulder
and demanded, " Alright you! I wanna know what's
happening on Namekusei and I wanna know right now! "
" Hey! You can't order me around like that! " Kaiousama shouted, " This is my planet! "
Kyande drastically switched moods, or tactics, you decide, when she sweetly proclaimed, " Oh, I'm sorry, please let me see what's happening, Kaiousama! I'll make you some dimsum if you do! Please? You're such a nice guy, I know you'll do this for me! "
Kaiousama blushed, " Oh, all right. "
Kyande grinned evilly. I am going home!

Freezer burst from the water with a collassal sploosh. He hung in the air, his shoulders up, his fists clenched, and his facial expression beyond frightening. After a moment of fuming he screamed, " I'm going to give you the beating of a lifetime! "
Gokuu jerked his head, throwing bangs from his eyes, and brought his arms up into fighting position.
Freezer landed on the island and kicked a stone into the trench. He crossed his arms and, while he still was fuming, recovered some of his original demeanor, " You have a lot of power. Too much for you to be an ordinary monkey of a Saiyajin. " Freezer's lips spread into a thin smile. " I've decided on offering you a chance to join me. "
For the first time, Gokuu spoke. " No, thank you. I already have everything I could ever want. "
Freezer's face pinched. " Then you are going to lose it all! "
Gokuu resumed his ready stance, but took a precious second to look back at Piccolo, Gohan, and Dende.
Piccolo jerked into action. He reached down and grabbed the two kids, and without a word, took off across the skies.
" There's only so far they can go, " Freezer stated threateningly.
" There's only so far you'll get, " Gokuu countered.
Freezer looked insulted for an instant, before attacking. The two massive powers collided and the battle had begun.

Goten leaned so far forward when Sarro paused he fell out of his seat.

Freezer swung his tail around, and when Gokuu brought his hands up to block that, he enclosed Gokuu's throat with his hand. His tail wrapped around Gokuu's wrists, binding his hands, while Freezer brought his other hand up to strangle the Super Saiyajin.
Gokuu choked, gasping for air. He couldn't free his hands, he was stuck, and fast losing ground. His knees weakened, and this gave him an idea.
Pulling his hands in, he drew Freezer closer and kneed him in the midriff. Freezer groaned in pain, but nothing else. So Gokuu kneed him again. By the fourth time, Freezer was forced to let go. He retreated a short distance, and Gokuu collapsed to his knees, gasping for breath. For a moment his hair flickered back to it's original colouring as he almost blacked out, thus losing his hold on Super Saiyajin.
Suddenly a ki blast hit Gokuu in the shoulder, and he fell back with an outcry. He clutched at his shoulder as a thick well of blood escaped between his fingers.
Freezer laughed outright. " This is too easy! Just like when I destroyed
the rest of those filthy monkeys! You're face right then--
reminded me of that one! The only one to-- " Freezer broke off with
a gasp. He stared at Gokuu as the Saiyajin got to his feet. " I knew you
looked familiar. But you couldn't be, ah, I see. You must be his son! "
" Huh? " Gokuu stared, " You knew my father?! "
Freezer laughed again. " You're father was the first to go! He watched my ki blast come at him, and the pathetic one he sent in response disappear into it. " Freezer lowered his head and his laugh turned to one borne of a manic pleasure at the memory, " He died a very slow and painful death, just like you're going to. " Again he laughed loudly, " Like Father Like Son! You and Vejiita Both! Just like you're fathers, you don't stand a chance, and you're too stupid to realize it! "
Gokuu quivered. He hadn't cared about the Saiyajin before, but that was brutal, insane, infuriating. His aura flared up around him again, the gold flame casting shadows all around, creating a new sun on the face of Namekusei.

" That's It Gokuu! " Kyande hollered to the pink skies over Kaiousei, " Kick His Ass But Good! Do It For Your Father! Do It For Gohan! Just Do It, For Kami's Sake! "
Speaking of fathers, Yamcha had a question. " Um, Kyande...? "
" Not now, Yamcha. "
" But-- "
" Not now! "
" But you said-- "
Kyande turned, " What Part of 'Not Now' Do You Not Understand?! "
" All Of You Shut Up! " Kaiousama shouted, beating Kyande in the decible department, " This Fight Isn't Nearly Over! "
" I think we're all going to be needing headache remedies before this is over, " Kuririn commented wryly.
Tenshinhan and Chaou-zu nodded in agreement.

Gohan watched as the shining beacon that was his father leaped for the speck of darkness he knew to be Freezer. Aprehensively he looked up at his mentor and inquired,
" Do you think Otousan's going to defeat Freezer, Piccolosan? "
" We can only hope so, Gohan. "
Dende stared up at Piccolo, then at Gohan, then back at the battle. Really, it was all they could do. They were no longer a part of this. All that remained were the Super Saiyajin Son Gokuu, and the tyrant Freezer.
Who would win? No one could say, and that was where the inexorable waiting factored in.

Gokuu and Freezer took to the air, exchanging blows and illuminating Namekusei further with their combined ki. For every blow Gokuu anded, Freezer got one in, and for every blow Freezer got in, Gokuu met with a retaliatory strike. Eventually it was all they could do to accomplish this, as both opponents read the other's style to the point where they could predict either's strikes.
They broke apart in the upper reaches of the atmosphere. Namekusei curved below them like a kaleidoscope swirl of greens. From the frothing waters, to the sparse trees, and wavering grasses to the last remaining survivors, (and Piccolo only half-counts) the monochromatic look of Namekusei made it the perfect backdrop to this fight over the universe's fate. Would the victor be Freezer, so aptly named for his cool tones of gray and amethyst. Or would it be Gokuu, encompassed in his fiery gold aura and clothed in a brilliant orange gi? Only time would tell;
and soon.
The sojourn in the battle ended, and the two opponents flew at each other again. Gokuu led with a stunning combination that sent Freezer reeling, and Gokuu didn't relent. He got Freezer with a severe uppercut then with a double fisted blow sent him slamming to the ground.
" Yeah, Otousan! " Gohan cheered.
Gokuu took a moment to look at his son, then descended down to meet Freezer just getting up. He landed on the ground, and watched as Freezer struggled with the blow to his ego.

" They're distracting him! " Kaiousama declared. " Freezer still hasn't gone to his whole power! This is bad, with Gohan, Piccolo, and Dende there Gokuu won't last much longer against Freezer. "
" Then, " Kyande paused, trying to think, " Why aren't they leaving? "
" Huh? " Kaiousama looked back at her inquisitively.
Kyande stepped back and scratched her head. " Why in the worlds did we wish Piccolo back first in the first place? Um... "
" Hey! " Tenshinhan exclaimed. " Piccolo mentioned something about Chikyuu's Dragonballs before he left. "
Together, Kaiousama and Kyande repeated blandly, " Chikyuu's Dragonballs? "
Somewhat surprisingly, it was Kuririn who put it all together. He snapped his fingers in a motion of triumph and declared, " Yeah! Now that Piccolo's alive, so's Kamisama and we can use the Dragonballs on Chikyuu again! "
" Hai! Hai! " Kyande squealed. She then grew serious and turned to Kaiousama, " Here's the plan, I remember now! If you wish to life everyone killed by Freezer that'll include the Eldest Namekuseijin! "
" But Freezer didn't kill him, " Chaou-zu pointed out.
" Not directly, " Kyande contradicted, " but the grief caused by what Freezer did to his people shortened Guru's lifespan, got it?! So, if we wish him back to life, then Porunga will return, and we can use the third wish of Porunga's to get the heck off of Namekusei then it's bye-bye Freezer and hello my ticket home!! " Kyande took in the way everyone was looking at her and cleared her throat, " Uh, that is to say... "
Leaving Kyande to fumble through an explanation, Kaiousama set upon contacting Kamisama.

Freezer dove for Gokuu, catching the taller warrior in the ribs with a fist, while using his tail to sweep Gokuu's legs out from under him. Gokuu grabbed that tail and used it to swing Freezer into a cliff on a neighbouring island. He took off after Freezer, and as the tyrant attempted getting up again, Gokuu kneed him in the face, crumbling the cliff around them.
As the rocks fell, Gokuu shot up out of the rubble, shattering a few boulders and his shirt as he went. He landed, otherwise unscathed by the water.
Which is more than I can say about Freezer.

" Yes, " Kamisama agreed, " I do believe that will work. But it will take some time. Mr. Popo has already gone in search of the Dragonballs. "
" Great, " Kaiousama said, " I have some thing to take care of back here, but I'll be in touch Kamisama. "
This done, Kaiousama turned back to Kyande and the others and pointed out, " I just have one small problem with your plan, Kyande. "
Kyande blinked at him. Problem? How could there be a problem? She was right about this! She knew she was! " Whuzzat? "
" Freezer, " Kaiousama stated severely, " will follow Gokuu to Chikyuu. Now that he's had a taste of the Super Saiyajin power he will follow it to the ends of the universe in order to defeat it. "
" Oh, that's okay, " Kyande brushed it off, " Gokuu's not going back to Chikyuu with the rest of us. "
Everyone choked.

Hear me out, Kyande explained as Freezer pulled himself from the rubble.
The tyrant glared at his opponent with a ferocity unparalleled. He wiped at his face and ran for Gokuu again.
Gokuu's not going to want to go anyway. He knows Freezer will follow him and that's the last thing anyone wants.
Gokuu dodged Freezer's attack and knocked him between the shoulder blades.
So, Gokuu will stay behind and fight Freezer, no holds barred, nothing to hold him back. It will be the last battle either of them sees for a long time.
Freezer just barely caught himself before going into the water. He turned and regarded Gokuu with eyes that were no longer angry, but eyes that were shining with a final understanding, and a knowledge that Gokuu did not yet possess.

" Either of them? " Yamcha echoed. " Are you saying that neither wins? "
" Maa, " Kyande declared, placing one hand behind her head nervously,
she was almost telling too much, " Gokuu wins, but he
doesn't really kill Freezer, at least I don't think so. Who knows?
"
