BIO
Graduated with a degree at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and came up to London to work with Alice Pollock (Ossie Clarke’s partner in the 60’s) at the Granny Takes A Trip premises in the Kings Road 1975.  Helped to make stage clothes for UFO and met Amanda Lear in the shop.  Used to go and see Jordan at the Sex shop owned by Malcolm McClaran and Vivienne Westwood in my lunch break.  She later married one of Adam and the Ants.  I loved her tiny mini-skirts and huge bouffant hair. She travelled everyday from Shoreham on the south coast to work in the shop.
Started gong to the Speakeasy nightclub and met Lemmy who had just been sacked from Hawkwind – the beginning of a long association with the music scene!!   He then formed the legendary Motorhead!  Years later I met Tracy Inder who is the mother of Lemmy’s son Paul Inder, a child star in the seventies. He built his own studio in his bedroom at the age of 10 and now works as a producer in Beverly Hills, USA.  He plays the best rock guitar on the planet!  Tracy and I are the best of friends to this day and she herself has an amazing rock voice that literally makes me shiver when I hear her sing!!!

Was told the Sex Pistols were playing at the Chelsea Town Hall and even though I knew them about a year later when we all drank in the same pub I didn’t actually ever see them play live altogether, only John Lydon with Public Image and Paul Cook and Steve Jones in The Professionals!

Met Marc Bell the then drummer with Richard Hell and the Voidoids one night in the Speakeasy.  We remained friends and he contacted me again when he replaced Tommy to be the drummer in The Ramones.  I have my photo with him in the Ramones film End of the Century The Ramones.  It is a black and white picture of us together which must have been taken by one of the road crew, filmed when he was talking about The Ramones in 1978. Of course have seen him much more recently at some of his gigs in London.

Met my soon to be husband Billy Putnam, known as Billy Boop when my tutor from Bournemouth & Poole College of Art, Leslie Poole brought him to my home in Chelsea.  Billy was quite a character. He once shared a flat in San Francisco with Janis Joplin and played in a cult band called the Coquettes which are still remembered today.  It was going up to a Generation X gig that I realised how much I liked Billy so we married at the Chelsea Registry office in 1978.  Lots of fun times in the USA!!

In 1979 found myself dancing up on the stage with 2 gay guys at the Embassy nightclub which was the place to be seen in!!  It was the London version of Studio 54.  One evening I had Andy Warhol, Steve Rubell (owner of Studio 54), Halston, Bianca Jagger and Liza Minnelli sitting at my feet whilst I danced the night away on my ledge!! Steve Strange danced with me one evening which was great.

The disco scene was soon to be succeeded by the Blitz nightclub.  I was great friends with Steve Strange and Rusty Egan alongside Karen O’Connor who is the daughter of Des O’Connor. They all shared a flat in Clanricarde Gardens, Notting Hill.  Every amazing person that was out on the scene at that time and well documented by Dani was at the blitz nightclub.  The cream and music and fashion scene descended on a Tuesday night and the less fortunate were not allowed in by the discerning Steve Strange!!

Post 2000, about 24 years later I found Steve Strange at the reception at Central Saint Martins and took him up to meet the tutors etc.  He became my lodger for a while whilst he was writing his book so I had a mention in it.  Also a Buddhist friend (I am a Nichiren Shoshu Buddhist) the 60’s fashion designer Ossie Clarke was honoured at the Victoria & Albert museum with a special party of a launch of the Art of Ossie Clarke which had been written by Judith Watt a fashion historian at Central Saint Martins. I had in fact encouraged her to do this and was mentioned in the Bibliography which was great.

Have attended some of the nightclubs that Steve Strange has run with Rosemary Turner and also danced the night away at some of Rusty Egan’s shindigs where he still dj’s in London at some fantastic venues.

Just finished some filming with Steve Strange and Rusty Egan which will be shown on Living TV in September or October this year 2008.  It is a series where some bands have been chosen for a make-over and the audience had to comment on their appearance – and Steve also sang Fade To Grey with Rusty on drums as usual.  They looked fantastic!!  Very nostalgic!!

Have worked for the last 20 years as an administrator at a university and promote a marketing company called Success University – http://117889.successuniversity.com/

I also sell Avon Cosmetics which is really fun.

Love interest have been seeing Feabhean Kwest for the last 8 years (ex Cuddly Toys and one of the first musicians to be auditioned for the Sex Pistols and he also joined Generation X but Billy Idol left just after this). He now plays Gypsy guitar.
