	Chapter 2 – Princess of the Sun Smoke curled and twisted as it reached towards the sky. Mina and Lita had insisted on having a sleepover outdoors. The girls sat around the fire, sharing different stories. Codie sat there, unsure of what to think, it had been a long time since she’d sat around and just had some fun. “Okay Codie-chan! It’s your turn to tell the next story, make it a good one!” Lita shouted. “Go ahead,” Rei urged her. Codie knew a story, one they’ve never heard, a very sad story, maybe it would be interesting to tell it? “Umm, ok. I have a story. Once upon a time, there was a beautiful palace, but it was built in the sun. There was an entire village within the sun’s protection. It was a very happy place. People were friendly, and everyone got along. The palace held many parties every night, and everyone was invited. Those that lived in the palace were the Queen, the prince, the princess, and the princess’s personal bodyguard. A knight who had sworn to protect her…” Codie stopped a moment, looking a little sad. The others just looked back and forth, a little curious if there were any truth to this story, and if it had any connection to the Moon Kingdom. “Anyways, one day, an evil king had traveled from Earth, in hopes to concur the palace with his army of creatures. The princess’s knight, and the four guardian’s of the palace, fought their hardest to save there home, but it was all in vein. The king had killed the Queen, and the villagers. But hope was not completely lost. The brave knight dealt the final blow to the evil king. Before he died, the King cursed the sun, so that no person could ever live there again…” Codie stopped again. Serena stood up suddenly, “Nani?! That’s it?!?! What happened to the others?? The princess? Her knight?” Codie looked at the ground… “Well the princess and her knight ended up on a new planet. The knight vowed never to leave her side, and to always protect her…” a tear rolled down her cheek. “But he didn’t!! He ran!! He abandoned her and left her all alone!!” Everyone was shocked by her sudden outburst. “Uh, gomen…anyways, as for the others, I don’t know what happened to them…or if they’re even alive.” Codie looked around, she had made everyone depressed… “Hey! Don’t worry about it! It’s just a story, ne?” Lucky, she managed to lift everyone’s spirits with a bag of marshmallows, especially Serena’s.
