Why Amazon and Warner Brothers are Evil.
I get so many people asking me why I think this, that I just had to make a page. So, going in the order of which they became evil...
This is the term used by those of us who used to frequent the Harry Potter message board at Amazon.com. Key words - used to. You see, first links to the site began 'mysteriously' disappearing. Then, one day last June (the month before GoF came out), the message board was Avada Kedavra-ed by Amazon. Disappeared. Completely gone... all those discussions, all that work. Why? People wrote and asked, and all they got back was a form letter with no real explanation, just a 'hope that you will continue to buy books from us.'

Needless to say, I, and many others cancelled my pre-order immediatly, and went to a good old reliable bookstore on the night of Monday the 8th. As for the message board, a few people tried writing in the Fantasy section, but we weren't welcome there. So many of us migrated to other message boards, where we are happily living now, with no fear of being Avada Kedavra-ed by evil Amazon.
Warner Brothers is evil because of their commercialisation of Harry Potter. And, while it's all endorsed by JKR, it's not all necessarily right. The collectables are wrong in so many aspects, and the movie looks as if it will fall into the same trap. Here are some of WB's 'finest' Harry Potter bloopers...
First things first - the sideways scar. Now, while JKR never actually says Harry's scar runs vertically, the cover art for both the British and American books show it that way, and fans have come to see the vertical lightning bolt as a symbol for Harry. Also, it's much more aesthetically pleasing that way...
Second Gripe - in the books, it does say that Hermione has 'bushy brown hair', brown eyes and 'rather large' front teeth. The figurines of Hermione are practically blonde, and... THEY ALL HAVE BLUE EYES! Obviously, some one didn't read the books. Like all the people at WB...
And for the final merchandise rant (and this one really ticks me off). The black and white picture at left, by Lar De Souza, is posted at Jenna's UHPFC, and has been for the past year (at least). So when it came time to do the calendar this Fall, it looks as though the WB artist went to the site, and stole Lar's picture. I know it's tiny, but they are the exact same thing! The artist just re-drew Lar's picture, giving him no credit or cash. Low, very low...
Now, for the movie bloopers...
At Right: Um... they're going top have trouble if they don't fix this one. Riddell? C'mon people, it's Riddle! I suppose next we'll be seeing 'Lord Volldemort'. Or Llord...
At Left: Ravenclaw's mascot? That certainly doesn't look like an Eagle to me! I think they need to re-read... oh, excuse me, read the books.

unless you are WB, in which case, I'd advise you to visit  this page instead.

And, for the final insult... Warner Brothers is feeling quite threatened by a small group of talented teenagers who enjoy Harry Potter. Maybe they're just jealous, because these kids have actually read the books and are really enthusiastic about sharing Harry. Regardless, the evil, big WB monster is forcing these kids to give up there domain names. For more info, click on the button at right...
