I hung around the gayscene hosting for various nights including D.T.P.M and Fiction before finally getting a job at Selfidges as a make-up consultant for the fabulously tacky Barry M cosmetics.
Dressed to impress with blue hair check piercings and 22" corset I became a good seller for Barry M although most the customers thought I was a manakin and freaked when I politley inquired if they wanted any help. Unfortunatley I am colour blind and found make-overs for asian women proved to be quite a challenge. My moto is if u can't get the right colours throw enough glitter on top and u'll look fabulous.
It was around this time I met My now band mate and best friend/sister Adam Kunte. We started doing extra work through casting collective and got more envolved with London's Torture Garden and hosted most events as Miss Kunte Kinty and Clamidia Darling.
I then started working for Expectations as a rubber gluer after six months I could make anything out of rubber and now design a lot of my own stuff. Just as I started working here Adam and I met Stik the final piece of the Synthetic Pleasures jigsaw puzzle.
We met on a casting job and spent the whole day chatting about the lack of imagination on the gay scene in london and how the same generic gay clubs played the same washed out hard house. It seemed the only way to correct this was to create our own music and then clubs like Nag Nag Nag and the Cock turned up and it was our first platform for 'Synthetic Pleasures'.
We've now been a band for about three years and have played all over london, milan, and zurriche and have got gigs lined up in helcinki, sao paulo, rotterdam the list goes on.
We are planning to releases a four track ep later this year through Kosmetic Surgery records and can finaly give something back to the fans that have supported from the word go. Stop the dreaming live the dream
