8th Grade English Language Arts

6th Grade Resource Special Education

Description:

For my field experience I decided to visit two Language Arts teachers that have completely different roles and responsibilities when it comes to teaching within the content field of English.

I chose an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher who is renowned in my county as one of the best English teachers.  Her constant dedication to her students, engaging lesson plans, and expertise in writing makes her a true asset to any school.  She has taught at the elementary and middle school level.  She was named teacher of the year for 2005-2006.  She is also head of the English department.

I then chose a 6th grade Special Education teacher who specializes in the content field of English Language Arts.  She is also a very warm and respected educator in the district known for her patience and expertise in field.  She was also named teacher of the year in 2003.
