24 july 2001 Am doing so many things and keeping up with writing is hard…lol Satrday we went wth two of the older youth in a shappa, an old VW van where they squeez in like 30 people.....and then they call it a bus. We went to the city and visited some tourist markets, bought some souvenirs. In the evening we went out for dinner with the man in charge of the center/kidsstuff, a man from australia. Sunday was an incredible day. First we had two weddings at church. During church i sat with tho kids, a girl and a boy named nesto. Nesto laid his head on my lap during the preaching and I was just praying for him quietly for God to bless him. Then when i looked at him he was like crying. So i just continued to pray for him. Then after church and the weddings we had baptism servce, we all went outside to a cubething with water and they baptised 100 kids and a dozen of girls who used to be in prostitution but who got saved and wanna start a new life. Some of the girls as soon as they stepped into the water, they just went crazy...well the demons in them so they immidiatly prayed for deliverance and then were baptised....talking about starting a new life! :D The baptism was s special, you just so felt God. It was awesome to see those kids get baptised. They also prayed for them to be filled with the Holy Spirit. It was awesome to see those little black faces just shine. A lot of kids recieved prayerlanguage there in the water and were just lost, standing there eyes closed worshipping and praying to God...........kids 6/7 years old even. Those kids are such a blessing. Monday we had a staffmeeting with all the staff of the center and pastors from the school. We started with worship and prayer. Then Heidi shared from Luke, that we have to stop and care when God shows us where there is a need. After the meeting helped with preparing meds for an outreach we are gonna do later this week and then prepared for the kidservice we are leading tonight. The weater turned rainy and cold. A lot of the kids dont have shoes or sweaters. It was very cold in church but they still came! Some brought their sheet or blanked just to be a bit warmer. We did some dancing songs to get them warm again, taught them some songs.I shared a short message about God being our Father and loving us like He loves his son Jesus.Someone else shared something too and then we prayed for those who wanted to recieve prayer, wich were most of them. They were open to recieve Gods love and we had a blessed time. Today we went to Mashava, the other center of iris ministries an hour or two north of Maputo. 4 american doctors and my dad did medical stuff in the clinic. The others of our team spend the whole day praying for the people who had been to one of the docs. We did not let anyone leave the little hut witouth one of us praying for them. The people were open to recieve prayer, we prayed for so many people. God was there :D He gave us the strength and words to stay praying all afternoon. When we saw the hungry and eager faces of the person comming for prayer all our tiredness left and we just prayed our heart out again. At the end of the day pastor Jose, the leader of the center there showed us around. At that center live 150 kids, they are a bit older then the kids at the zimpeto center. In one of the dorms we found a boy laying in bed sick, we prayed for him and my dad checked him out. We drove back covered in blankets (it was so cold) in the open back of the cameo truck. The evening we spend to pray for all the long term missionairs, to encourage them and bless them. I was so tired at the end of the day I was glad to climb into my musqito net and go to sleep. |

Heidi Baker and mozambiquan pastors baptising. sorry the pics are a bit dark...... |
At the wedding Corrie, dutch lady in charge of babyhouse, saw a mother with a baby who was very sick. The mom didnt have money so she agreed to leave the baby with Corrie so she could take care of it till it was better again, take it to hospital next day. Well the whole day our team prayed over it. Everytime we hold it we were just praying life over the baby and praying for healing. Here is my mom holding little Helena. She is actually 1 yr and 7 months old here, but she is so weak and tiny you would think she is so much younger. We slowly saw improvement. Her eyes were so sad and rolling away and we saw life come back in them slowly. Within a few days she was eating by herself again. They tested her and it turned positive......she has AIDS. |
