Today we went with the headnurse of the center, Pauline, a lady from new Zealand to a town where she had been a year ago during the floods. We packed up like 15 people in the small landrover and took off. We stopped at the hospital in maputo first cuz she had to do something there. My parents went with her and the resy of us was walking around the car, buying fruit from sellers on the street. My foot was really bothering me so i layed down in the landrover trying to take a powernap and put my foot up. I heard someone come in but didnt bother to look up. Then the son of one of our teammembers came to give me some fruit and i saw who had entered the car. It was Pedro, one of the youth from the center who was comming with us for translating. He is 20 and knows pretty good english. So we introduced ourselves and started talking. Then they were done at the hospital and we squeezed in again and started our drive. We drove into the city about 1,5 hours or so later. We found a hospital. We couldnt do any medical work because the director wasnt there. So we asked if we could go pray with the sick people. So we went into every room and prayed with every sick person. People with TBC, aids, astma etc etc. We asked every person if they knew Jesus, if not we shared who He was what He did and wants to be for them etc......every person who we talked to accepted Jesus. It was incredible. In my own country people might listen if they wanna be polite but never have i seen that all the people you talk with accept Jesus into their lives. It’s so awesome to walk in the power of God and just see him at work. There was this man we prayed for who was so sick he been in bed and hadnt walked in weeks. We prayed for him and challenged him to get up and walk.......he did!!! We walked with him around the room. It was so awesome!! The staff was waiting for us outside also wanting prayer. There was this group of nurses we prayed for, the one i prayed for starting to cry. The staff asked us adive and help because they have so many aids problems..... but besides giving advise and tell them about the power of prayer we couldnt do much at that moment. The staff was really touched and encouraged by our visit. God really touched lives that day. Dont tell me God aint working and changing lives anymore..........i’ve seen it and believe He wants to touch and change your life too. My dad and pauline went into the area around the hospital looking for a church. They found one where the pastor after hearing what had happened that day promised to go visit the people there and take care of the new brothers and sisters. Because its one thing to have people get to give their life to Jesus but they also need to be taken care of, sheppered, find a good church etc. So we didnt wanna leave witouth that happening. It was an incredible day....one I will never forget! |
