WHO WE ARE:
AHS is a very active support group that serves Pickens County, Northern Cherokee County, and surrounding areas in Northern Georgia. We are a non-profit group created to provide fellowship and activities to home educators. The support group is founded on Christian principles (see statement of beliefs); however, AHS consists of home schoolers from a variety of backgrounds in regard to religious denominations, race, etc. AHS welcomes any new members who will abide the standards of the organization.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
The purpose of Appalachian Home Schoolers is to provide encouragement, information, and other varieties of support to home school families. The organization is founded upon the Word of God, with its founders believing that the Bible teaches that parents are ultimately responsible for the education of their children. "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he shall not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
