We
are a product of our memory and our imagination. The harmony of the present
depends on the manner we are able to assimilate the lessons from the past,
and dream up the future. Obliteration of the past is always tragic, whether
related to our personal or collective destiny. Trying to imagine something without previously exercising memory is a passport to failure. Since 1839, photography allows us to shape our historic account in images. Words are still essential, however, no descriptive text has the strength, precision of details and immediacy of photographic images. In our countries, the necessity to preserve photographic archives has become an important very recently. There is a growing concern in government and private institutions regarding the restoration and utilization of photo archives. Some progress has been made in this respect, but the work being carried out is incomplete. Restoration but no classification or digitalization, etc. Visual Memory can offer the complete process. We have the means, know-how and expertise to do it. |
