Alcohol:
- Alcohol is permitted in the Wharekai area only. Please enquire when booking.
- Wine etc on tables with meals only.
- All other alcohol served from the Kitchen Servery.
- The premises must be cleared and left clean at 1.00 am following the hire date.

Hirer Requirements
Hirer/s shall be responsible for the cleaning of the kitchen, dining room, ablution area, during and on completion of the Hui.
Hirer/s shall be responsible for the appropriate disposal of all rubbish during and on completion of the hire. Their other duties shall be the cleaning of the Wharenui, Laundry, Passageways and general exterior grounds on completion of the hire.
Note
All groups hiring the Marae are responsible for the above hirer requirements unless hosted by Araiteuru Marae itself.
No footware in wharenui at all times.
No food or drink in wharenui at all times
Important Information:
- Hire document must be completed and returned to Office by email or post before the hire is accepted.
- Phone bookings can be made but must be followed up by hire document within 14 days.
- 28 days cancellation notice must be given or a $50 penalty fee will apply.
- A Pohiri will be given to all those who have not been to Araiteuru Marae before. Please let us know if any of your group may be waewae tapu so we can organise one well in advance.
Araiteuru Marae Council Inc Breakage
and Loss Policy
Aim:
A transparent process if breakages or loss occur while hiring Marae facilities.
Guidelines
- All breakages and/or loss to be reported to the Co-ordinator.
- A breakage shall be classified as something that has broken, due to use, and not as wear and tear.
- If a breakage occurs Araiteuru Marae Council Inc will bill the hire group for either the cost to replace the item, or the cost to repair.
- If a breakage qualifies as an insurance claim the group responsible shall be liable to pay the excess.
- Missing items including utensils, kitchen equipment, and in general anything that is supplied by Araiteuru Marae Council Inc for the use of during hiring will be recovered by billing the hire group for the cost to replace. If item/articles are insured, the group will be liable to pay excess.
- This policy shall be given out to individual/group on confirmation of booking and hire document completed and signed.
- Hire document must also be checked and signed by Co-ordinator and hire group on completion of hire. Any recovery costs to be noted and followed up.
- Prices may vary from time to time depending on availability. Please ask when making a booking.
- Other equipment can be arranged at base hire rate to the hire group.
- All cost incurred in recovering outstanding accounts will be the responsibility of the group hiring the Marae.
