Ascensano Aviation
is one of Vexillium's premier manufacturers of airliners and other
aircraft. It is based in the Lendosan Confederation, and was formerly
known as Lendosa Aviation.
(TECH: For those not already aware of it, this page is part of an online simulation called Vexillium. It isn't real.)
AIRCRAFT MODELS
Ascensano currently has eight aircraft models in regular production,
plus a number of variants. It also provides services for several other aircraft models which have are no longer in production.
Ascensano divides its airliners into four categories - turboprops, small and medium jets, large jets, and supersonic.
TURBOPROPS
LAC-100

The LAC-100 is the smallest airliner manufactured by Ascensano
Aviation. (Smaller planes are made, but they are not classified as
airliners). It is used primarily for small, short-distance routes,
particularly feeder services connecting minor towns to major centres.
It is generally counted as one of the quietest turboprop aircraft in
the world, and is also highly fuel-efficient. The aircraft pictured here is in the livery of Rabeli Airways, an airline which operates many services between the islands of the Rabel archipelago.
LAC-200
The LAC-200 is the larger cousin of the LAC-200, and is the second
smallest airliner in Ascensano's catalogue. It has a longer range and
greater passenger capacity than the LAC-100, but is generally used for
the same purposes. A slightly extended variant of the LAC-200, called
the LAC-210, is also available - it has a slightly increased passenger
capacity and a slightly longer range. The aircraft pictured here is in the livery of Jhu Kha, a general transport company serving the state of Kha.
SMALL AND MEDIUM JETS
LAC-500
The LAC-500 is the smallest full jet airliner manufactured by Ascensano
Aviation. It is used primarily for domestic flights, typically on
short-to-medium length routes. The basic version of the LAC-500
generally has a passenger capacity of between 90 and 118 people. An
extended version, the LAC-510, offers increased capacity and distance,
and the new LAC-520 offers greatly increased distance, making the
aircraft viable for many international routes. There is also a cargo
variant of the LAC-520, the LAC-520/C. The aircraft pictured here, which is a standard LAC-500, is in the livery of Air Lavaia, an airline based in western Piolsa.
LAC-1000
The LAC-1000 is a jet airliner intended for longer-distance domestic
routes or shorter international routes. It has two variants - the basic
LAC-1000 has its engines on the wings, and has a passenger capacity of
around 180, while the LAC-1100 has its engines on the rear of the
fuselage, and has a slightly greater passenger capacity. They both have
the same range. The aircraft pictured here, a basic LAC-1000, is in the livery of Rivan Airways, which serves routes on the northern coast of Lendia.
LAC-2000
The LAC-2000 is Ascensano's most versatile aircraft. It is intended for
significant domestic routes or less important international routes, and
has historically been the company's best selling aircraft. There are
five variants of the aircraft - the LAC-2100 has the same capacity, but
an extra engine mounted at the base of the tail, and much improved
range. The LAC-2200 also has a third engine, and also greater passenger
capacity, making it useful for many international routes. There are two
cargo versions, the LAC-2000/C and LAC-2100/C, with a third, based on
the LAC-2200 range, being developed. The aircraft pictured here is in the livery of Piolsan Airlines, a major domestic carrier based in the Piolsan capital, Tiris.
LARGE JETS
LAC-3000
The LAC-3000 is a long-range airliner intended primarily for
international routes. It is a wide-bodied aircraft, and is fitted with
four engines. It is the most fuel-efficient of Ascensano Aviation's
jets. An extended version of the LAC-3000, to be called the LAC-3100,
is currently under development - it will have extended capacity and
range, filling the gap between this aircraft and the larger LAC-4000.
The aircraft pictured here is in the livery of Lendosan Airlines, the
state-owned carrier of the Lendosan Confederation.
LAC-4000
The LAC-4000 is the largest airliner currently produced by Ascensano
Aviation, although the LAC-5000, currently under development, will be
larger. It is intended for major routes, whether they are key
long-range international flights or short but high-density domestic
ones. The average passenger capacity is around 400, while an extended
version, the LAC-4100, carries around 430 people. Cargo versions exist
for both variants - the LAC-4000/C and LAC-4100/C. The aircraft
pictured here is in the livery of AMA, an airline focusing on
international routes in western Longerath.
LAC-5000 (Under Development)
The LAC-5000, when completed, will be Ascensano's largest airliner, and
along with Delacroix's A380 and Klagstein's K-0XX0, will be one of the
largest airliners in the world. It will have a passenger capacity of
around 550 people, and will have a cargo variant, the LAC-5000/C. It is
intended for the largest and most important international routes, and
has been under development for more than ten years. The aircraft
pictured here is in the livery of Ascensano Aviation itself.
SUPERSONIC JETS
LAC-SA1
The LAC-SA1 is one of only two supersonic airliners currently in
production (the other being Klagstein's K-0000). It is by far the
fastest member of Ascensano's airliner fleet, although does not
have the same passenger capacity as most others. Due to the noise
inherent in supersonic travel, the LAC-SA1 primarily serves on routes
across the Cislendian Ocean, where it does not fly over populated
areas. The aircraft pictured here is shown in the livery of Tikia, a
tourism company which operates two LAC-SA1 aircraft on a charter basis
for holidays abroad.
CORPORATE INFORMATION
OWNERSHIP
Ascensano
Aviation is jointly owned by private companies and the government of
the Lendosan Confederation. The Confederate government holds a
one-third stake in the company, and another third is owned by Lanatira
Technologia, the largest company in the Confederation. The remaining
third is split equally between the Confederation's six largest airlines
- Lendosan Airlines, Lendian Airways, Piolssan Airlines, Rivan Airways,
AMA, and Neonian Airlines. (This actually brings the Confederate
government's share up to just under 39%, because Lendosan Airlines is
state-owned. However, the airline operates autonomously from the
government.)
HISTORY
Ascensano
Aviation was initially established by the government of the Lendian
Empire as a manufacturer of military aircraft, operating under the name
Lendian Aerospace Corporation. It later branched out into civilian
aircraft, and was put under the joint ownership of the Imperial Defence
Bureau and Imperial Lendian Airways (the state airline).
When the Lendian Empire was broken up, most Imperial assets were
divided between the newly emerging states, but this was difficult in
the case of the Lendian Aerospace Company - almost all its
infrastructure was located in Lendia proper, and could not easily be
transferred to anyone else. As a result, the company came into the full
ownership of the new Lendian government, with other states being
compensated for the loss. The Lendian government placed the company
completely under the control of Lendian Airways (formed out of the
Lendian share of Imperial Lendian Airways), and later sold the whole
company to private interests.
Subsequently, Lendian Airways opted to sell the Lendian
Aerospace Corporation. One third was purchased by Lanatira Technologia,
a major corporation. The other two thirds were purchased by
the Confederate government, which considered the company to be of
strategic importance due to its production of military aircraft. The
company became known as Lendosan Aviation. In 205 AP, however, the
government voted to split the company into several components - the
division responsible for civilian airliners, which lacked the strategic
importance of the military wing, was established as a separate company.
The government then sold half of its two-thirds stake to an alliance of
airlines, leaving the new company split three ways. The new company
adopted the name Ascensano.
SALES
Ascensano
Aviation welcomes inquiries about purchasing our aircraft. Permission
is required from the Confederate government for any sale, but provided
the aircraft are intended for civilian use, this is a mere formality.
