THE KITCHEN

I don't prepare food in this room but it is kept well stocked with provisions for my guests, should they require them. Of course, I have been known to visit the wine rack now and again. I do pass through this room frequently for other reasons. The dumb waiter is a shaft that drops straight to the basement area. If you decide to click on the hatchway be prepared for a long drop.........
I am quite reconciled with my vampire nature nowadays but there is one mortal pleasure I will always miss...eating well prepared food. I can put the stuff in my mouth but nausea prevents me from swallowing it, I'm not even sure it would pass through my body anymore. Ah well....there is always blood. Just in case the non vampire thinks this would soon become boring fare I must put the matter straight. The taste of blood is far from monotonous! I have never yet in all my years had the unique flavour of blood repeated, even when taken from the same person at a slightly later date. The differences are due to many factors, such as....age, hormone balance, chemical stimulants (both natural and artificial), the donors age and what they themselves have eaten to name just a few. So my diet, though narrow in range, is still more varied than one may think. Still when I see a hot plate of meat and vegetables or curry or one of those delicious looking Italian dishes I do feel a pang of longing. I would particulaly like to try one of those hot Indian curries that people seem to relish so much. The spicy taint it gives to the blood is quite intoxicating but curries weren't around at the time of my 'turning'. One cannot have ones cake and eat it, it seems..... click the hatch...
