There was little time for more conversation, since an orderly, came
to show her to her room, which happened to be on a ship.
Inside this room, was her possesions, all neatly arranged. But she
soon realised that there were items in the room which she had left at her
mothers house on Tatooine, in fact, it slowly dawned on her that all her
worldly possesions were there. She was due to be here for some duration.
Hearing the engines being prepped she left her room and looked in the
living space, but there wasn't anyone there either.
So she went into the cockpit, where Relanda and Simon were beggining
to take off.
Simon asks her whether she can fly, and jumped out of the co-pilot
seat, when she tells him she can. Meanwhile Relanda finds some coordinates
in the Navi-comp, and sets a course into hyperspace.
Once in hyperspace they search for and find their instructions in the
safe, and open them.
The instructions explain that they are on their way to Kruchek to rescue a kidnapped dipllomat. When they arrive their sensors detect six Victory Star Destroyers in orbit around the planet, creating a blockade.
After confirming their identity and purpose with a clearance code. They
landed at the main city, and, after a brief cuffufle at the space port,
they checked in at a B&B.
This bed and breakfast which was a large town house, with about 20
or 30 bedrooms, owned by an elderly woman with an olive complexion (rather
like Elana's), was rather acceptable.
The elderly woman invited them to dinner which she explained, that
she liked to do for all her new guests.
At dinner it turned out that there was a large family who were also
of olive complexion and all decendents of the elderly woman. She informed
the gathering that there were new guests, and indicated, Elana, Simon and
Relanda. After a large banquet, Simon went off, having invited a young
attractive lady (a model) who had joined part-way through for a walk. Elana
was hit upon by a great-grand-son called Toni (who was in his 30s) of the
Elderly woman.
Elana went out to a night club, called Ricos, with Toni. There she discovered, from their conversation, that the whole family was a mafia syndicate with the elderly woman as boss. Also the Model that Simon was courting (and more) was the fiancée of Toni's brother, who was caught off planet before the blockade. Whilst Elana's agenda was to find information, Toni's was to ask her to take a package off planet, through the blockade. She agreed and he told her it would be delivered in the morning.
At breakfast the 3 were talking about what they were going to do that day, when a package was delivered for Elana, she accepted the package, and continued talking, defying any attempts to find out what the package contained. Elana herself didn’t know what it contained.
They went first to see the diplomat’s room, and after breaking past
some security to get the lift to stop on the right floor, they found that
they weren’t allowed to see the room because the security guard wouldn’t
believe that they had the authority.
They then went to see the planetary Governor, who was surprised that
they hadn’t been to see him before, he then gave them access cards which
would grant them carte blanche.
They returned to see the diplomat’s room and the guard turned pale
when he saw the access cards. They poked around the room for a while, discovering
several facts:
A struggle had taken place
A window had been left open
The window was opened from the outside.
The cameras stopped recording for 1 hour.
They called the planetary sensor grid and found out that the city’s
sensor grid went down for 20 minutes that night.
From this they could deduce that the assailant, arrived by air, opened
the window went in, captured the diplomat, and restrained him somehow,
took him back up to the roof, and left by air.
They calculated that 20 minutes could get them a long way away, in
an airspeeder or something.
In the afternoon Simon went to the Natural Sciences university, located
in the countryside just outside the City. When he returned he reported
that he had discovered to possibly important things:
1. A professor had left recently with a new anaesthetic.
2. An archeological dig was in place on the north pole.
The then decided to check out the North Pole dig. They boarded the ship,
took off and headed North.
When they reached the pole, they landed and were welcomed, the people
there were willing to show them around the dig. Elana, ensured that she
checked the small encampment above the surface, but like as not, the dig
was real, and there were no signs of the professor.
Returning to the main city, since that line was a dead end, Elana went
to the streets to find out what the “word” there was. She was told three
different rumours:
1) the Mafia did it.
2) The university had done it.
3) The government had done it.
Whilst she was mulling over these rumours, she went with Toni to Rico’s again. By asking others there (so as not to arouse Toni’s suspicion she found out that the Mafia hadn’t done it, but that they wished it hadn’t happened.
The next morning, Elana, Simon and Relanda went to the Governor's Office to get the box opened. The governor had someone who could do easily bypass the security on the box, soon the box was opened to reveal a mating pair of Gems (These gems (whose name I have forgotten) are more valuable that Corusca gems (which can be mined) and should be returned to the Emperor who has declared them his). They briefly discussed what they would do with them, before stating to the Governor that they would be returning to Imperial Centre soon and would take them back to the Emperor.
Elana and Simon then went to the industrial city to check out the university
there. This time Elana pretended that she was a prospective student, and
requested a tour of the facilities.
The admissions officer there was only to happy to escort her. The tour
was mostly boring apart from a restricted block which was described as
a restricted block.
After the tour Elana and Simon talked about how to find out what was
inside. They decided that they didn't have enough evidence yet, and so
they returned in the middle of the night to do a recon before calling in
the troops.
Mugging a couple of scientists for their passes and lab coats, they
walked in, and went straight past the guards to the basement. Looking in
the first lab, they found a Stealth Airspeeder, which had muffles which
were recently cleaned to make it look like it had not been used.
The second lab had a new TIE. They then rounded the corner and found
a table with what appeared to be students playing cards. Elana spotted
that they had guns, they left and called in the troops:
Significant Air Support, a squad of stormtroopers in civilian gear,
as well as loads of army troopers.
The stormtroopers found the Diplomat in a room behind the table. The
resistance was quickly crushed.
Simon then decided to try and rescue his Model girlfriend, by climbing in through her window. He did however get caught by Toni and two other thugs. Elana followed them to a warehouse, where they took him inside. She sneaked in and observed them beating him up, she then fired on the the three of them. The Doc broke his bonds and started hitting Toni. Elana's hold out blaster ran out of charges and went click. She quickly changed guns. She continued firing until the two thugs gave up. The troops are called in again and Toni is arrested for having the Gems.
On their return to Imperial Centre, Elana met the Emperor, but had to
shoot Toni to carry out the penalty of possessing the Gems - Death.
