Jeez, I guess you could even say you like and agree with what I've written here but man that's
boring...:-)
Korben Dallas -- The main character in the film, whose actor did an excellent job of acting.
Korben plays the role of a 23rd century cabbie in good 'ol NYC. It's not the kind of cab you and
I are used to seeing, that rides on rubber balloons filled with air and relies on a glorified air
pump (internal combustion engine) for power -- oh no. The stinkin' thing flies around, zips through
the air, between (and through) cars and buildings. He has a lot of fun in it during the phoenomenal
chase scene with Leeloo. He is the main man who is involved romantically with Leeloo and helps
get the group (consisting of Ruby, Cornelius, Leeloo, and Korben) out of tight spots. He is
initially approached by the Federal Military to find the stones and nearly turns the mission down,
but our saviour Leeloo makes an appearance and gee, somehow Korben is inspired! He's a real
McGyver, too. He can use any weapon, fly any ship, and he used to be a fighter pilot for the
Federal Military. He's good. And funny -- his scene with the mugger is hilarious, the aftermath
of attempting to kiss Leeloo is funny, among other things (I kinda don't have space to put it all
in). He's definitely worth keeping an eye on in the film. Played by Bruce Willis, a very very
talented actor.

Leeloo -- Her full name is...rather more than you would like to say frequently: Leeloo Minai Lekarariba-Laminai-Tchai Ekbat De Sebat. Hey, say that three times fast. Ha. Anyway, she is the supreme being. You know, the ultimate perfect creature, all that jazz. All I have to say 'bout that is that they sure picked the right actress to portray her, dontcha think? :-) :-) Her role in the movie is that of protector of life. She is used to defeat Evil (aka: Mr. Shadow) in the end by channeling the love that she and Korben share, which I and a number of others believe is the true Fifth Element. It is emitted in the form of a beam of pure white light. Well how do *you* want me to explain it? That's what I see happening. Love conqueres evil. During the movie, she speaks a divine language which is understood solely by Father Cornelius: a priest set to keep guard over the temple and prepare for the supreme being's arrival. She is totally and utterly unfamiliar with human culture and standards of decency. The reason: she is pure and completely innocent. She gets Korben into (and out of) a lot of trouble on the search for the stones, and of course we all owe her one cuz she'll save life, the universe, and everything in a couple hundred years. But you're not supposed to know that!!!! Played by supermodel Milla Jovovich.

Ruby Rhod/Loc Rhod -- A hilarious mega-personality who sometimes seems a bit too much. His first scene is just great! Korben just wants to get in the plane, and relax...but no...this loud, weird DJ approaches him and he is pulled along with all the rest of 'em and forced to talk on his show (sorta). Perhaps the most overdone character in the film, he honestly gets a bit annoying toward the end of the film. You just wanna stand up and say "shut up, gosh-darnit!" but of course you'd do it with a smile. He's real funny. I personally like the scene where Korben shoots a line of bullets around him and he falls through the floor :-) that's a good 'un. He troops around with Korben's gang throughout the film. Played by Chris Tucker.

Victor Cornelius -- or, the priestly dude. He speaks the divine language (good thing, cuz I know I don't) with Leeloo and knows of her importance. He tried to convince the President, just a hair too late, that violence was not going to make Evil go away. It would cause it to grow stronger. Cornelius has a job protecting the temple in which the signs were discovered in the beginning of the film. The temple is where Leeloo does *her* job, destroying evil. He was quite surprised when Korben showed up with her, believing her dead by the crash of the Mondoshawan vessel, and even more surprised to discover she was actually a female. He fainted (I initially thought he just died :-)) upon sight of the tattoo on her arm. He was arrested for stowing away on the spacecraft that Leeloo, Korben, and a multitude of others took to the planet Fhloston to hear the Diva sing. Why did a priest do such an unpriestly thing? Well, to save the world, of course. My favorite scene with him is when he smacks Korben with the trophy. Played by Ian Holm.

Zorg -- Oh man this guy is fantastic. He's Evil's human accomplice, though what he gets in return for his services is uncertain. He's basically an all around mean guy with a slight southern drawl, Hitler-esque facial features, and a limp. He's actually quite humorous in most of the scenes he plays in. He has a monstrous corporate presence on Earth, selling weapons and doing other stuff that common people such as you and myself would refer to as "illicit". His showcase gun is the ZF1 -- featuring a 3000 round clip, flame thrower, net-launcher, poison-gas arrows, rocket launcher, ice-cube system, and a replay button to boot! Nice. Well he sets out to generally ruin the search for the stones by obtaining them himself. I won't tell you how that actually worked out, but I'm sure you already know. Probably the most amusing scene with him in the movie is when he's choking and Cornelius decides to chat it up before helping him out. Played by Gary Oldman.

Mangalores -- Really, really ugly baddies employed initially by Zorg to get the stones. They shoot down the Mondoshawan ship. They blow up the Fhloston Paradise Hotel. They kill the Diva (they shouldn't have done that). They shoot everything all to hell. In general, they're mean. Their homeworld devestated by the Federal Military, this warlike race is destined to forever roam the cold empty void of interstellar space, forever exiled from all Civilization.

Mondoshawan -- Termed by many the "gentle giants", they are responsible for bringing the supreme being to Earth every 5000 years when Evil once again threatens humanity. Their vessel is destroyed by Mangalores as they came into human space, thus apparently dooming...everybody. But Leeloo survived the attack. They're huge and throughout the movie they are only visible encased in their life-support armor: their true form is unknown, at least to me.

Evil/Mr. Shadow -- Evil. Death. Termination. Opposite of Good. Not a nice thing to have around the house. This "thing" is the reason that Leeloo exists, since it must be destroyed every 5000 years when it returns for another go at killing all of us. Hey, where do you think our first moon came from? Those scientists think they got it down, but I know the real story -- that's Evil's best bud up there, y'all, right over our heads! If you see the movie you can get a sneak-peak of what the second moon will look like! But those scientists in the end must have calculated wrong because at an orbital altitude of 62 miles that moon would really be cruising around the Earth, likely causing severe tidal damage and earthquakes. They were wrong. The voice used in the movie to portray Evil is really cool sounding. Voice by Yolanda Garza.

The President of the Federated Territories/President Lindberg -- A big guy. A big voice. A medium role. He initiates Korben's military mission to gain the possession of the four sacred stones from the Diva, and almost attempted to stop General Staeddert from firing the nuclear projectiles into the planet/moon/whatever that was Evil. He squished a cockroach, causing Right Arm some severe headaches :-) Played by Tommy Lister Jr.
