Interview With A Jedi...

Jedi vs. Sith

"Qui Gon had realized what none of us had. That training Anakin might be dangerous but it could not diminish its importance or its necessity. He told me that Anakin would bring balance to The Force. Qui Gon knew that Anakin's training, and even the return of the Sith, was necessary. Balance. How many times had he used the word and I had listened but never really heard; not until it was too late and he was leaving me alone to carry out his mission. So I fulfilled my promise and undertook young Skywalker's training. Qui Gon's purpose had become my own. And when Anakin turned to the dark side of The Force, I mourned the loss of the young Jedi even as I felt that his path had been inevitable. This was what Yoda had struggled to see and feared even in its clouded uncertainty."

"But this was all long, long ago... Qui Gon had trusted me all along, like no one before or since has trusted me." Mulder nodded his head, thinking of his partner and understanding Obi-Wan completely. As Mulder stared at the handsome Jedi, he felt hypnotized with his desire to join him and experience the bond of master and student - to be a Jedi Knight. Mulder suddenly snapped awake. He must have dozed off because Obi-Wan was nowhere to be seen. A sudden, sharp yearning engulfed Mulder as he frantically searched the room and the street below. Could he throw away his flashlight and cell phone and take up a lightsaber and become a Jedi? He was ready to find out. Leaving his files and tape recorder behind, Mulder raced from the apartment in search of Obi-Wan and his future.
