Third starship to bear the name. Built at San Francisco Fleet Yards orbiting Earth and launched in 2293 (Stardate 9715.5) under the command of Captain Harriman. It was 467 meters long. On its very first flight, which was meant to go past Pluto and come back as a publicity stunt, led to its most disastrous. Three Starfleet legends had come aboard the take part in the first cruise of the Enterprise-B: Captain Montgomery Scott, Captain Pavel Chekov, and Captain James T. Kirk. After it had cleared the asteroid belt, the Enterprise had received a distress call from the El- Aurian ship SS Lakul. It was caught in an energy ribbon. The Enterprise got caught in the ribbon also after it rescued some of the passengers of the Lakul. The Enterprise was struck by an outburst of energy from the ribbon and the port side of the deflector dish was destroyed, where Kirk was. Kirk was "killed" saving the Enterprise.
