"Staying Alive" is a total different kind of album that Master Z's debut album in 1989. Instead of funky, ego boosting lyrics of his first album, this one is more close to reality and life. It seperates Master Z from the other rappers that sung about how good their lyrics rhymed and about their style. This one a greater hit then the first one already showing signs of violent lyrics and explicitness. The songs "Remember me?", "I Shot a Man", "Believe Me" (ft. Ice T) and "Medic" were released as singles. The album also features Lewis Clarks (formely Vicious Circle), Sandman and Outlanders. The single "I Shot a Man" entered the top 10 charts in the US making it to the number one spot! His first number 1 hit!
