Mind's Eye. by Marita. 1/10/99.
Land, nature. Snowy landscape, but clear skies. I am the only human here, and I am lost. I need to seek help, and the only help available here are from animals. I see a bear in the distance, so I approach it. But it turns out not to be a bear, but rather a huge otter. I ask for help, but he bites me instead. I try to shake him off, but he acts like a growling puppy. His teeth don't hurt my hand; still, his menacing motions scare me. Finally, I performed some maneuvering (I don't even know what) and he lets go suddenly, temporarily, but enough for me to withdraw my arm. He still stared at me. Nearby, I found a sea lion who was willing to help. What kind of help? I don't know. He told me to step into the pool and put my head under the water. He would show me how to open my "third eye." I was scared, plus I didn't know if this was the sort of help I needed. However, unlike my usual dream self, I trusted this animal. He might have seemed like a Yoda-type, even if he didn't look it. I put my head into the water. Almost immediately I saw through the water. The sea lion was telling me a story through my newfound sight. It seemed a variation on some old Chinese tales I've heard as a child. It intrigued me, but then I was brought back to a dark wooden house, with a lady informing me that I had a call from the sea lion. It was his way of communicating with me. I was informed that I had to leave now, or else I would drown.
