Like I said in the Slayer's section, in both the movie and the show, there is love surrounding all the slaying. Here you can find out all about the slayers love interests.

THE MOVIE:
In the movie Pike is Buffy's final love choice. In the begining of the movie she was dating a guy who was much like her, a jock, rich, popular. Perfect fit for the before the slayer Buffy. But once she found out she was the chosen one, her interest in men changed and she started seeing the poor rebel Pike. He was a very scruffy guy (and this was back when scruffy guys where just not hot at all and the grunge look wasn't "in" yet). Pike helps her fight the vamps and they fall in love and by the end of the movie they are running off into the sunset on a motor cycle.

THE TV SERIES:
In the series, Buffy Summers love interest is a vampire by the name of Angel (short for Angelous). Dont get me wrong here, he is a good vampire. Or at least he was at one point when him and Buffy where together. They meet several times before they actually start dating, and share many a passionate moments and confess their love for each other many times too. Angel befriends the whole slaying team and helps them fight the demons that persue them many times. He even saves their lives a few times too. But they break up the day after Buffy looses her virginity to him and he turns into a bad vamp again and switches to the other side when they need him most. So, unfortunatly this slayer is un-lucky in love again.

Similarites Between the Guys:
Both have dark hair, dark eyes, caught Buffy's eye, sweet (well, Angel was at one time), both have weird names, both dont go to school with Buffy, both are loners, both live alone, both help Buffy fight the vamps, Buffy dis-likes them both at one point or another, both have former friends who are vamps

Differences Between the Guys:
Angel dresses very good where as Pike doesn't start dressing good till the very end of the movie, Pike has facial hair and Angel doesnt, Angel's a vampire and Pike's a non-financially stable guy, Angel has a cool apartment where as Pike's is not so great, Angel has no job or vehicle and Pike has both, Pike is a few years older than Buffy in the movie-but in the sreies Angel is decades and decades older than Buffy
