There were over 30 fisherman hooks on standby. They were made of Styrofoam painted silver. Crew members used them to jokingly gut each other. There was only one real metal one for close-ups -- it was guarded closely.

Since Sarah is usually busy fighting vampires in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and since IKWYDLS was filmed durring Sarah's hiadus right after filming the first season's shows, Sarah Michelle was still in "Buffy" mode when they started filming. This caused a problem since Helen Shivers is nothing like Buffy Summers-Sarah had to control her urges to kick back and punch out the fisherman killer when meek little Helen was getting gutted.

Durring the filming of IKWYDLS, the movie was jokingly called I Know What Your Breasts Did Last Summer by the cast and crew since Sarah and Love had to run arround in skimpy little outfits all the time to please the mostly male audience who'd be watching the film. Sarah and Love didn't mind much though, they took comfort in the joke and joined in with the kidding as well.

Towards the end of the 50-day shoot, cast and crew headed for Bodega Bay in California near where The Fog, Village Of The Damned, The Birds and, ahem, Scream were filmed. "North Carolina is a great place, but it's the flattest state around," says crewman. "We needed to find a more dangerous looking road to be Reapers' Curve, where the kids hit the man."

One night, on the way home from the set, Jennifer Love Hewitt saw this fisherman standing on the side of the road in his slicker--just standing there in the dark. And she was like, "Oh my God, go a little faster." The next morning, when they were driving back, and she looked over, he's still just standing there. Then she realized it was a cardboard fisherman: a sign advertising some fish restaurant. That's the way the filming affected her psyche. It was awful, she says! Love thought she was seeing crazy fishermen everywhere, like the one who pursues her in the film. Everyone thought she was a little nuts.

When Helen and Julie are going to the Egan's residence to see if they can find out why someone would be stalking them, they mention 'Murder, She Wrote" and "Silence of the Lambs". In the house when coming up with fake names to give Missy Egan-Julie quickly calls Helen Jodi (as in the scaredy cat who might get killed when entering the strange house) to which Helen calls Julie Angela (the brave detective out to solve the crime no matter what happens).

Both in 'Candyman' and 'IKWYDLS' the killers "Candyman" and "The Fisherman" used a hook to kill their victims with and neither use anything but the hook weapon.

Helen Shivers is crowned Croaker Queen which is much like the award Tina Wilcox got in JAWS 2 when she is crowned Miss Amitty for Amittyvile Island. They both are seen having to prance around in bathing suits, both girls live in sea side towns and are teenagers with blonde hair and watch their boy friends die.

Just like in 'JAWS' the movie takes place in a small sea front communtiy where unsuspecting victims get slaughtered.

The killers in both movies wear a black outfits, both of them with head gear. Both of them dont talk while they are killing and both seem to love to stab people with sharp metal objects over using guns or any other weapon.

In Scream, the killer always cleaned off his knife after killing someone. In IKWYDLS, the killer wiped off his hook after killing the police officer.

After the killer kills the policeman, he starts heading towards Helen. Helen is trapped in the cop car, which is what happens in Scream 2 with Sidney and Hallie, when Ghostface breaks in. And in each movie the girls have to climb out the window. Thanks to Tony Fulton who sent this in!

In SCREAM, Sidney Prescott falls out of a window and looks up when she's stopped and the killer is gone. The same thing happens to Helen Shivers in IKWYDLS. Also in SCREAM 2, Sarah Michelle's character falls out of a window again!

In IKWYDLS, Johnny Galecki plays Max. In SCREAM 2, Laurie Metcalf plays Debbie Salt. But both Johnny and Laurie starred on the hit show 'Roseanne'. Thanks to Kasia for this info!

Sarah Michelle Gellar (Helen Shivers) worked with Lacey Chabert in All My Children. Lacey is now in Party of Five with Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott) and Sarah's IKWYDLS co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt (Julie James).

Freddie Prinze Jr. (Ray Bronson) lost the part of Stu Macher to Matt Lillard in the first Scream.

Dimension Films and Mirimax sued Mandalay and Columbia for stating in the commercials to promote the movie that it was from the creator of 'Scream'. And actually won the damn lawsuit cause they thought it implied that Wes Craven was involved with it. Well, if people were smart enough to read the god damn credits they'd see that Wes wasn't involved with it in any way and that it was actually Kevin Williamson who the were reffering to. Kevin wrote the damn movie so therefore he created it. I dont see how they won but it pisses me off. Its not like Deminsion and Mirimax didn't make enough money off Scream already! Geez!!
