Phil is Maureen Evans boyfriend who gets killed Steve Orth style like in the first SCREAM. Like Steve, the only thing he did wrong was chose the wrong girl to date. And as an addition to that, have the wrong name. Since there is a copy cat killer, the reason why Phil was chosen to be killed is because his last name was Stevens. As in Steven Orth. And because he just had to date a strong, proud, beautiful black chick named Maureen Evans. As in Maureen Prescott. The poor guy doesn't last 15 minutes into the movie. Ghostface gets him and it wasn't pretty. Phil's ass was tore up! He did not even stand a chance against Ghostface!

He goes into the bathroom to you know-do some manly business--and in the next stall hers someone making some weird noises. Well-that was a wrong move because all of the sudden after that-a knife plunges through the little separating wall right into his ear. Needless to say he died soon after that.
