It was in the old one, why not any more? TOO COMPLICATED, that's why. But here are some really, really easy sponsorship rules that will make your life worth living once more.
During the collapse of the NAF, many large Old World companies lost literally millions of gold pieces through failed business ventures. Since the Open Tournaments began to give the sport a more stable format again, some companies have begun to tentatively look to sponsor teams again. This can be an invaluable source of much-needed cash for a young team, and many will do absolutely anything to convince that rep to plaster his logo all over the strip.
A Head Coach may go looking for a sponsor after any match. Roll a dice and apply the following modifiers:
Won the match: +1
Lost the match: -1
Match was a quarter- or semi-final or final of any kind: +1
Each sponsorship you already hold: -1
Each full three points of fan factor: +1
If the total is 7 or more, you have successfully found a sponsor.
Roll a dice to find out what form the sponsor takes. You cannot refuse the offer.

Record any sponsorships you hold (even if they were only one-off cash payments) on the back of your team roster, along with a name for the company if you did not receive a special sponsor. You cannot hold more than one of each special sponsorship. If you roll the same as you already have, you have not found a new sponsor this time.
