If you enjoy reading about Ancient History, this is a book for you. Gemmell follows the life of Parmenion an outcast Spartan, who searches for a way to get revenge upon the tormentors of his childhood.The story flows from Sparta to Thebes and includes a wonderful description of life in Ancient Greece.
Although I don't believe that this is one of his best books, I find some of the scenes heart rending in a way that his other books have not managed.
Highly recommended people!
