Lips and Noses

Lips and Noses

Shadows fall in such strange places
On young children's and on angel's faces
And seek what lies beyond the light
On summer days and winter nights

When wind blows through lovers' hair
And with each kiss begins to dare
To find a place deeper and below
All that the lovers could ever know

A place beneath and in between
And so intense becomes obscene
But even freshest petals part
And in season leaves depart

Like scattered clothes belie a bed
To another woman in love's stead
And wishing that the night was blacker
Must find other ways to distract her

But even in the darkest hour
The throws of passion may consume
The sobs of unworthy lovers
Never making bride nor groom

Crush her heart and make it mean
What all others think obscene

In the stead
Of lovers' beds
Let your heart be cold
If nothing meant
Then time is spent
In better ways by far

Wait for beauty at your side
And to her, your love confide
Her fragrant hair and angel's face
And beauty never marred
