The metal transmutator Madison Jeffries was one of a number of Canadians that had gone over to Vietnam. He served as a mechanic working in the motorpool and his brother in the medical field. Sometime after his return he joined Department H and was in the Gamma Flight training team where he met and became romantically involved with Diamond Lil.
Long after the breakup of the team and the death of James Hudson Madison was contacted by former Beta Flight member Roger Bochs. Bochs knew of Madison's power and wanted him to help in the creation of a new and superior BOX robot. When Roger went back to Alpha Flight Madison tagged along. Waiting outside the West Edmonton Mall Jeffries actually transmutated Delphine Courtney into scrap and then proceeded to defeat the rest of Omega Flight single handed.
Madison then stayed with the team as the mechanic and general Mr. Fix It until Roger Bochs began to lose his mental stability. With his intimate knowledge of the BOX robot Madison was able to knock Roger out of it and take control for himself. In the battle against the being made up of Madison's brother Lionel and his friend Roger Bochs Madison was forced to destroy the creature. As a result of the fight Madison learned of his ability to alter tohe BOX armor while inside it.
Madison for a time was romantically involved with Heather Hudson but in the end went back to his true love Creepy Crawly, Diamond Lil and the two were married. During the run of volume two Madison had joined the new Alpha Flight but was abducted by the Zodiac and hasn't been heard from or even mentioned since exept that wife Lil has come looking for him.
