The Hotel Room

One day, three brothers were going to Florida to visit their relatives. They got tired, so they stopped at the nearest hotel. The clerk at the hotel says, "One room costs $30." So of course, each brother pays $10. The three brothers went up to their room to unpack. Meanwhile, downstairs, the clerk realizes that he over-charged the brothers. He says to himself, "I charged them $30 for a $25 room." So, the clerk gives the bellhop five $1 bills to take up to the brothers. As the bellhop is heading up in the elevator, he says to himself, "There are three brothers and I have five $1 bills. Five dollars does not divide evenly between three people, so I will keep $2 myself." So, the bellhop puts $2 in his pocket and goes into the brothers' room. He gives each brother $1 back. That means each brother paid only $9 instead of $10. Nine times three is $27 and the bellhop kept $2, which is $29. What happened to the other dollar?
