"Open a subspace channel to DS 101," flatly ordered Zack.
Less than twenty minutes later, he had a response from Ruane. The
ex-Maquis were staying on the planet for now. Ruane had called it more of
a house arrest. That didn't make Zack feel any better about leaving them
there, but he had his orders and he would carry them out without
hesitation.
After passing the word along to Selak, Zack took a deep sigh. Finally he
could feel this mission coming to a close.
--------------
Scene: Desert Sands outside ex-Maquis Camp
Dorove had wrapped his arm carefully. The bleeding had stopped, but he
was feeling light-headed from all the blood he had lost. Still, he had a
mission and he was intent on carrying it out until he died. Dying was
on his list of things to do tonight.
Already the orange-brown sky was giving way to an inky blackness. *More
cover* considered Dorove.
Peering carefully from behind the hut behind which he hid, he saw the
starfleet officers heading towards another building that occupied
the center of the camp. Smiling and clutching his photon grenade
launcher, he realized that he now had a target. He could see the fringes
of his vision getting cloudy, turning hazy white and he knew that it
wouldn't be long before he lost consciousness, but he did see the
STARLIGHT INTRUDER, his ticket home.
--------------
Scene: USS BANGA BRIDGE
Zack took another sip of his coffee. He was just finishing up the log
when he noticed out of the corner of his eye the rather unusal movements
of the red dot on the main viewer. He had ordered the main viewer display
all lifesigns within the camp. Starfleet was in blue and everyone else
was red. Right now, there was a small cluster of blue surrounded by red
in the camp's central structure. But on the very fringes of the ship's
sensor 'window' into the camp a lone red dot moved erratically avoiding
all the other red dots by a wide margin.
Needless to say this upset Zack. "Ensign," began Zack moving from the
command chair, "what are the life signs like on the one in grid 7b?"
The ensign at ops hunched over his controls and began fine tuning the
sensors. She almost had an answer before the red dot disappeared beyond
into the dark area surrounding the sensor window. "I couldn't get any
readings before he moved back into the interference area."
"Damn," muttered Zack. He tapped his comm badge, "Hogan to Selak." He
couldn't keep the urgency out of his voice, but disguised it as best he
could.
["Standby."] came the reply.
Zack waited a few moments.
["Yes, Lt Hogan. Selak here. I had to excuse myself from the hearing
range of our guards for the night."]
"Selak, I think there might be trouble afoot down there."
----------------------
Scene: Desert Sands outside ex-Maquis camp
Dorove smiled as he activated the launcher and centered the scope on the
main building. He could feel his eyelids becoming heavier and his good
arm going as numb like the one that had mangled by those thrice-damned
dark bloated beasts in the sands. He was dying, but not giving up. He
could see the ship several meters to his right. The building housing
Starfleet for the night was directly in front of him...in range of his
launcher. He could make it to the ship, probably, but first he needed a
diversion.
---------------------
Scene: USS BANGA BRIDGE
Zack's eyes were rooted to the main viewer so he saw the small projectile
moving quickly towards the building with all the clustered blue dots. The
computer choose a kind of magenta color to represent it.
"Away team, take cover!" half screamed Zack over the comm link.
The projectile missed the building by a very slim margin. Still, Zack
knew that the explosion could cause some damage. He also knew another
shot could be on its way and with a better aim.
Time seemed to pass in seconds now. With more calm, Zack began passing
out orders.
"Ensign Takei, origins of projectile."
"Sir, projectile originated in interference area. I can't get anything."
*Alright* thought Zack. *We do this the hard way.*
"Ensign, triangulate point of origin based on speed and trajectory of
projectile."
The ensign froze for a second as if thinking why hadn't I thought of that,
then his hands flew over his ops console. Another second passed and Zack
knew they were in the hole for two seconds already.
"I've got it sir!" exclaimed the ensign as a dark area of the viewscreen
map lit up. Still no chance of reading life signs in the area hence
no chance of using the transporters unless...
"Bridge to transporter room. Lock on to a two cubic meter box at these
coordinates and initialize transport," ordered Hogan as he tapped in the
coordinates on the command chair arm console.
["Sir, I don't know what we're beaming up. If it's inorganics we might
have some problems with the buffer."] came the confused voice from the
transporter room.
"Mister, it's probably both organics and inorganics we'll be beaming up.
If that's an objection to my orders, its noted. Now begin transport."
Zack sounded so calm as he passed out his commands, but deep down inside
he was flipped upside down and turn inside out.
A few hours passed in the form of a few seconds and then the message from
the transporter room came in.
["Sir, I've got one body, I think he's hurt, and lots of sand down
here."]
"Excellent. Get a medical team down there and make sure you follow
isolation protocols for our new guest. Bridge out."
Zack breathed a sigh of relief before turning his attentions back to the
main viewscreen and the situation on the planet.

**Scene: Ex-Maquis Holding cell**
As the grenade exploded, the side wall of the hut collapsed and a
cloud of dust and smoke filled the cell.
"Is everyone all right." Said Alyza.
Luckily Zack's warning had come in time and everyone had crouched
down, protecting themselves. No one was hurt. Quickly, the Commander
assessed the situation.
"Selak, take two security officers and find out what happened. The rest
of you follow me, we need to find some shelter."
The best option would have been to beam back to the ship, but she
didn't want to leave the planet until she had a better idea of what was
going on.
As Selak left the building, he saw more than twenty Ex-Maquis running
around obviously with as little idea about what had happened then he
had.
"Remember, no killings." He said to the two security officers.
"We need to suppress the situation as quickly as possible."
With that he ran off in the direction of the leader Gollan's hut.
As he burst through the door he saw Gollan and Captain Bellamey reaching
for their weapons.
"Drop them." Said Selak, as he levelled his phaser at Gollan's chest.
"I knew you could not be trusted." Yelled Bellamey.
"What are you on about, that shot was aimed at us. You gather us in one
place and then try to blow the hell out of us." Selak responded.
The two men looked at each other, They had never seen a Vulcan lose
his temper, but the one in front of them looked absolutely furious.
The two security officers entered the hut and reported they had seen
someone beamed up to the Bangalore, but had been to far away to
identify who it was.
"Find Commander Alyza and report what you saw, tell her that I have
beamed back to the ship with Gollan and Captain Bellamey."
"Aye Sir."
"Selak to Bangalore, Three to beam directly to the bridge."
The three men materialised on the bridge of the ship and Selak turned
To Lt. Hogan.
"Tell me you know what happened?"
Selak was that annoyed, he didn't address his superior officer with
the usual, Sir. Something he would apologise for later when he had
calmed down. Zack, however, was that pumped up with adrenaline that he
did not notice.
"We beamed him aboard, I think it was a survivor from one of the
Maquis raiders, but we will not know for sure until we interrogate
him. He's in sickbay at the moment. We saw it happening on the view
screen."
After they had seen a replay of the events, everyone's mood calmed down,
including Selak's.
"Lt. Hogan, may I suggest that we contact the Commander and finish all
this before something else happens tonight." He said.
NRPG: I could not pass up an opportunity like that. That was just the
sort of situation that brings Selak's Human emotions to the surface.

Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end
-- Commander Spock
**SD: 90616.1227**
**Scene: Captain's Office**
Graeme closed the link between DS 101 and the BANGALORE having relayed
StarFleets' decision on the ex-Maquis. He had been able to provide a
guarantee for the people that they *would* be allowed to remain on the
planet in 'exile'. He wondered how this might affect the region. The
planet would soon become a colony of the Federation under the protection
of DS 101. If the CURIE couldn't find the rebels then protecting the
station, the commerce and the planet in the sector would become very
difficult.
"Just one year on this station, and I've already seen five years worth
of action." Ruane said to himself, scratching his head before putting a
hat over his straggly hair. He leant back in his chair and lifted his
feet onto the desk, a PADD containing the latest security report in his
hands.
What was written on the PADD was disappointing, security had turned up
nothing on the Nausicaan's killer. DNA analysis of the Nausicaan and
the incident area had turned up nothing special. Their was DNA from
several races...Vulcans, Romulans, Klingons, Orions and several more.
The fact was that deck 31 contained many different races, some currently
with tense relations between one-another...there were many variables for
the motive behind the killing aswell as the perpetrator. The only thing
that might give any lead was a knife and the fact that the murderer must
have been small enough to fit in the access duct. But so far security
hadn't been able to connect the knife with anybody.
Ruane put the PADD down and picked up another, he wanted to look of the
autopsy report for the Nausicaan again, to see whether anything had been
missed.
**Scene: The Mall**
Two security officers walked slowly through the Mall towards the
turbolift, they were coming off their lunch break and would soon have to
be back on Deck 31 questioning the inhabitants. As they entered the
turbolift they saw a bright blue flashing in M'Beya's shop, they
dismissed it as 'one of the strange things amongst many that go on on
The mall'. Little did they know that the blue flash belonged to a
Vulcan scanning device trying to scan through the casing of an ancient
Iconian artifact.
**Scene: Deck 31**
The security officers headed straight to the investigating team to
report in before knocking on doors.
"You two start on that side, we'll start on this. Report in every
five minutes."
"Aye sir." The two officers said simultaneoulsy before moving away.
They started on the nearest door. A Vulcan answered, they asked their
questions and moved on.
**Scene: Hogan and Rissa's Quarters**
The door chimed. The vulcanoids looked at Rissa and then at
the door.
"Answer it, give us away and you're dead." The 'leader' growled.
Rissa nodded and headed for the door, pressing the unlock and open
buttons. The security officers looked in to see the Orion and the three
Vulcanoids. They found it curious that the Vulcanoids stood still and
silent, staring at them.
"Hello, can I help you?" Asked Rissa. The security officers asked
their questions. Rissa answered them all quickly until they reached the
last one.
"What route do you usually use to come here?" One of the officers
asked. Rissa started telling them, illustrating the route with her
hands. The other officer watched a blood stained green hand moved in
the air. Both officers stared at Rissa who stared back still talking
but unblinking. Then the officers moved away, the door to Rissa's
quarters closing.
"Well done." Said one of the Vulcanoids.

After Selek had left for the Bangalore, the rest of the away team had been
rounded up and confined in yet another hut. Alyza had allowed it, as it
was important that unnessecary violence did not occur. They would all be
released once the results from the Bangalore were to Gollan's satisfaction.
Meanwhile, the small group had some time on their hands. Alyza walked the
perimiter of the small hut, as one of the ex-maqui watched. She noticed
something different about this hut. It was made mostly from the remains of
a ship unlike one she had ever seen before, and yet, something was familiar
about its construction. The wholes in the former ships hull had been
patched by the ex-maqui, but the bulk of the hut was certainly an old ship
of some kind.
"McLeary" called Alyza "come take a look at this"
McLeary walked over to where the Vulcan was standing. Alyza pointed her
finger at a very burned piece of metel, where 1 character was showing.
McLeary rubbed at the carbonation on the metel, revieling more of the
lettering. He became excited.
"This appears to be the same writting system as that of DS 101's makers."
"Facinating" replied Alyza with a single raised eyebrow. "It would be most
useful to get a recording of this, and a scan of the metalic make-up."
McLeary walked over to the ex-maque guard "Did you find this ship here?
Where did you find the tablet in the other hut?"
"The ship was here. It looked like it crash landed and was partially
burned in the atmosphere. The tablet was there" he said, indicating a
small storage compartment, now filled with food.

"Commander?" McLeary turned to Lt. Cmdr. Alyza. "Arent we going to do
something about this. I am getting tired of fighting off animals and
now being pushed around by these Marquis turncoats."
"Not too good an attitude for a prisoner, McLeary" Alyza answered him
scornfully. "Right now they have the weapons and we want to make
friends anyway. Lets look at this logically, Unless someone throws
a - how do you humans say it - throws a simian tool into the
engineering we will soon be able to negotiate with these people and
begin surveying for colonies. What is your hurry anyway?"
"Thats monkey wrench, commander." Ip'sc stated with a bit of humor
and a wry smile.
"I want to get on with my archeology study and I believe that Deep
Space 101s aliens have been here. That tablet in the main hall had
writings on it that look a lot like those in the computer core. If
you could speak to Gollan he might let me out to look at the thing.
Also it might give him pause to see that we are on a peaceful mission
and not here to bring these guys to some unknown justice." Mick spoke
excitedly. This first mission had been more than he expected but
killing a few ferry beasts and sitting in some holding cell was not
his cup of tea. He wanted to get out and do something meaning full.
"Well, Ensign, I will take that under advisement. For now, though,

"That name there." He said, pointing at the screen. "Vetak, a

"I do not see anything unusual about him."
"Vetak is an unusual Vulcan name, In fact I have only ever heard it
once before. A Lt. Commander Vetak served under my command many years
ago. He was killed on an away mission. I was with him when he died."
Ruane looked at the computer screen. "He is travelling with two
others. Do you know anything on them."
"According to Starfleet records, one of them was mentioned in a report
by Captain Picard formally of the USS Enterprise over 40 years ago
following an incident involving the Vulcan Isolationist Movement, as a
possible contact. Nothing could be proved, however. And the last one,
like the first one, appears to also have died some time ago"
"So what we have is one possible member of the movement and two dead
Vulcans." Said Ruane.
"Not all people who look like Vulcans, are Vulcans." The Admiral
added.
"You mean that they could be Romulans?" Ruane asked.
"It would fit their pattern. It is a possibility that they are in

Ensign Selak FCO/CNO
DS 101
Stardate: 90616.2334
Scene: USS BANGALORE brig
Time: Morning after the 'accident' on the planet
That night had been hectic. Selak had beamed up with the ex-Maquis
leaders following the attempt on the away team's lives by the Maquis
raider pilot.
Fortunately, the pilot had failed in his attempts to kill the Starfleet
officers and he currently was asleep in the brig. The doctor onboard had
advised vehemently against waking the man until morning, so Zack waited
until the morning came to being his questioning.
Zack had never seen a Vulcan lose it like Selak had when he had beamed up.
There was a fire in his eyes unlike anything Zack had ever seen before.
It was frightening in some respects. At least the man had calmed
considerably before beaming back to the surface with Alyza and the rest of
the away team along with the ex-Maquis leaders.
Once again, the senior staff with the exception of Zack and H'wee were
back on the surface of the planet attempting to wrap up negotiations.
Zack stolled into the brig holding a glass of crystal clear water. He had
decided to stop and get a drink on his way in, but he had yet to take a
sip of the water.
"Wake up sleeping beauty," softly spoke Zack through the forcefield to the
figure laying on the single bed in the cell. If anything, Zack felt right
at home in the brig. This was his place, where his duty called him as
chief of security. It felt good being down here and not in the command
chair, not that he missed that much though...
"I said wake up!" Zack shouted into the cell assuming that voice he saved
for real hardcases.
The figure rolled over, groaned and sat up on the edge of the bed.
"Uhghh..." The man ran both hands through his hair, before looking up and
taking stock of his surroundings.
"If it's any consolation to you, our medical staff say that you check out
fine. You're as fit as you're ever going to be. They even fixed your
arm."
Dorove looked down at his arm. The cloth was still torn, but the flesh
was healed seamlessly. No scar was even present.
"Thanks," lied Dorove.
"Glad to be of service." Zack waved at the crewman on duty behind the
guard station. The stout young man, exited the room quietly.
Zack pulled up a chair and swung it so that the back of it was facing the
force field and promptly straddled the chair loooking ever so comfortable.
"Our doctor also said you'd been without water for some time down there.
Amazing you survived quite frankly with all those wild animals down there.
You a survivor?" questioned Zack innocently to the human prisoner.
Dorove could feel the scratchiness in his throat. The starfleet man was
right, he was dying of thirst. And he had not yet touched the glass of
water he held in his hand...
"I do what I have to," stated Dorove. The anger and disgust was very
apparent in his eyes and tone of voice.
"I'm not here to tortue you. Here," Zack deftly brought the field down,
shoved the glass across the floor of the cell, and without missing a beat,
brought the shield back up. "Unlike the Maquis, we do try to find
peaceful solutions to things."
Dorove was across the floor to the glass before the starfleet man could
finish his last sentence. The water was delicious. He downed it in only
a few gulps, but it was more than enough to wet his parched esophagus.
"Peaceful!" The starfleet man's last sentence had finally reached his
brain. "What starfleet has done is not peaceful! People forced from
their homes. Innocent children killed, all to satisfy a few consciences
of those in command of your precious Federation!" Dorove used his
tattered sleeve to wipe the spittle that hung from his chin. His chest
heaved slightly. He was by no means finished with this starfleet man.
"You and your goddamned Starfleet are why we fight. Leave us be and there
would be no violence!"
Zack stood quietly on the other side other field listening to the
prisoner's tirade.
"Damn you, and damn all that that uniform you wear stands for! You're
blind by all the shit they feed you! Oh, join Starfleet, see the
universe, travel to unusal planets, and save the galaxy, that's what it's
all about. By the way you'll have to kill 'x' number of innocent people
while you at it!"
"I've killed no innocent people," quietly interrupted Zack.
The prisoner stopped, panting, chest heaving, and glared icily at Zack.
"Yes you have starfleet man, you've stood by and let it happen."
-----------------------------------
Scene: USS BANGALORE bridge
Time: One hour later
The interrogation had gotten nowhere. The man was adamant in his beliefs,
very adamant. Alyza was back on the bridge as was the rest of the senior
staff. Shortly they would be heading back to DS 101 having finished
negotiations with the ex-Maquis.
Alyza was her usual self, very stoic. Selak sat quietly at navigation
plotting the appropriate return course. McLeary was nowhere to be seen,
after getting some stone tablet from the surface, he had withdrawn to a
hastily set up science lab down below. All in all the away team was no
worse for wear, and relatively happy to be heading home.
Zack gave the command chair a sidelong glance as he took his place at
tactical. He was glad to see the weapons display before him instead of
the arm console of the command chair. It'd been exhilirating, but this
was what he felt comfortable with, for the moment.
The Maquis raider pilot, after his initial outburst at Zack remained
quiet. Zack informed him that counsel would be waiting for him at the
nearest starbase they could send him to. The man's words had slightly
disturbed Zack.
He knew he wasn't responsible for all the deaths that had
occurred as a result of the now infamous Federation/Cardassian treaty. He
knew that it wasn't his fault that people who had refused to leave their
homes had been slaughtered as a result. He knew that Starfleet had done
all it could to help.
But still the words had stung and he could almost understand the man's
pain. Zack thought of Rissa and how he missed her.

seemed like forever in the tense atmosphere, and it would have been.
"Computer, emergency release of the door to quarters 31-Blue-3,
security clearance Ruane-Alpha9-Weeble." The computer acknowledged the
request and the door to the quarters slid open...to reveal an empty
room.
Ruane looked around.
"It appears that the killers were aware of your plans Captain." Tulok
said as he too looked around the room. Items were frown around and
broken all over the floor, obviously there had been a struggle here
recently.
"Sir!" Called a security officer from the opposite side of the room.
Ruane and Tulok moved over to see what he had found. On the floor
beside him lay a large metal grill, and on the wall was the access duct
that it had once covered.
"I'm reading traces of Orion DNA, the other readings are unclear
Captain." The officer reported.
"Then it's clear where they have gone." Admiral Tulok crouched down
and crawled into the access duct.
"Admiral, might I remind you that these are would-be assasins?"
"If you wish Captain." Tulok said from a few metres down the passage.
Graeme shrugged.
"Ensigns Vend and Hilary, you follow me." And with that Graeme joined
Tulok in the access duct, he crawled to a cross roads.
"Choices." Ruane smiled as he reached Tulok.
"I shall take the right, you take the left." Tulok said.
"Well, okay, we'll do it your way for now Admiral. Ensign Hilary, go
with the Admiral.
"Yes sir." The Admiral and the Captain split up, each followed by a
security officer.
**Scene: The Right Tunnel**
Tulok and Hilary had been crawling for almost twenty minutes when they
reached a dead end. The duct seemed to terminate in a large, and for
the most part useless, room. As Tulok reached the grate he saw two of
the Vulcanoids and the Orion slave girl.
"Ensign Hilary, set your phaser to heavy 'stun'. We will go in on my
command."
"Aye sir." Tulok heard from behind him, followed by the noise of a
phaser being fired. He turned round just in time to see a metal pole
strike his head. The third Vulcanoid carried him and the dead security
officer into the room with the rest of the group.
**Scene: The Left Tunnel**
"What was that?" Ruane whispered as the sound of a phaser echoed down
the tunnels.
"A phaser sir, I heard it too."
"Come on." Ruane said turning round and starting to crawl-run back
the way he and Vend had just come.
"Sir, I'm guessing the weapon was one stun, else the security alarms
would have been activated."
"You're probably right, but a phaser on stun at close range can still
kill.
"You're right sir." Said the Bolian security officer as she followed
Ruane speeding through the duct.
Twenty minutes later and they had reached the source of the phaser fire,
but now all that remained was the dead body of Ens.Hilary, a burn mark
indicated the point at which he had been hit.
"So now they have a hostage." Ruane spoke softly, dropping his head.

identity of Vetak and that he had not died. They realised that I must
have lied about the circumstances of his death and therefore had to be
killed before they realised who I really was. As I have removed all
records of them ever serving in Starfleet, Selak is the only one left
who can connect me with the murders.

"That was stupid!" Rissa hissed through her teeth. Her hand and arm
had begun to ache again, and wasnt helped by needing to support the
unconscious Starfleet Officer. She had never understood hostage situations,
it never helped but only served to hinder and injured the innocent. "Your
plan will never work." The vulcan managed a glare while dumping the corpse
into a nearby acces chute. With the access codes supplied by Rissa, th body
would be dumped into outer space at its next cycling. She was sure to
unobtrusively leave a bloody print on the panel.
"I would worry about your own pretty neck, if I were you, rather then what
we should or should not have done..." he grabbed a strand of her hair and
yanked her close. The smell of him terrified her, reminding her of a past
best forgotten. She found that she had no choice but to stare up into his
cruel eyes, as he twisted his hand in her hair and brought her face close.
"We.....*I* have plans for you," her fear of him and what he represented
left her unable to resist. Footsteps further down the corridor interrupted
whatever else he had wanted to do, and he pulled/pushed her forward with a
intensity that almost caused her to fall.
"Get us out of here!" IT was a command not to be ignored and Rissa followed
orders as best she could.....they dissapeared without a trace.

Later:
Ruane was frustrated. Too many dissapearances and mysteries. The trail they
had been following had just vanished into thin air. Right now a security
team was investigating the bloody panel in the corridor. With a sigh he once
again wished he knew more about this station. Or the Orion. He had checked
with the computer in an effort to fing out more about his CSO's companion,
only to discover that there *wasnt* anything to discover. She was a dead
end, didnt exist until a few months ago when she was found stowing away on
the USS REGULATOR. He would have to talk to his Chief of Security when he
got back with the Bangladore.

McLeary studied the object. It was, for lack of a better description,
a rectangle/oval approximately .7 by .5 meters rounded at each end.
Though it was 8.7 centimeters thick it was quite light to lift. From
what Mick had seen on the planet surface this piece of "stone" was not
of that world. *Now what was it that guard had said.* Mick thought
back to the planet surface at the few moments he had with the hut
guard.
<"The ship was here. It looked like it crash landed and was partially
burned in the atmosphere. The tablet was there" he said, indicating a
small storage compartment.>
He had taken a look at the compartment. It had no special markings.
"When did you find the ship?"
"Eight years ago when we moved to this location. Actually it was
found over there." He pointed to a large outcropping of rock about 100
meters to the east. "We moved as much of the upper half as we could to
build some of our huts. It was a big job."
"What about electronics?" Mick pressed.
"Who ever, or what ever flew this thing took most of its propulsion
and electronic systems with them. What we found was a hulk and
shell."
*Just like DS101* Mick returned his thoughts to the tablet. *They
don't leave much behind. Very shy race indeed.*
Pulling out his tricorder Mick studied the readings of the metal
Commander Alyza had ask to have analyzed. Not much different than
most of the metal on the station. The carbonation on the metal seemed
to have been made by the usual forces during entry to an atmosphere.
Sending his mind back to the planet Mick thought again of the
conversation with guard.
"You say the tablet was in this compartment. Have any idea what it
might have been for." Mick asked.
"No, the ship was sunk deep into the earth. We only could salvage the
top third. We went down into the lower part but found nothing but
empty rooms with panels and strange lettering. We use the upper rooms
for storage, when we find anything to store. To have been covered
like it was with earth, it must have been there, at least 50 years.
And, I can tell you, it did not crash into the ground, it landed. I
am not a geologist but I think the pilot had to put it down and
misjudged the topography. He put the front end into a hole. Sometime
later a landslide covered it up." The guard looked, almost, delighted
to offer the information.
"You seem to be well versed on the subject." Mick suggested.
"Hey friend, when you are stuck out here with nothing to do but
survival, you have a lot of time to ponder the surroundings. So I
pondered a lot and we talked a lot." With that the guard walked off
to the main hut.
*It would be great to go back to that site and study it.* Thought
Mick as he turned his attention to the tablet. He would do a much
better job of study at the station and he couldn't wait until he
showed the thing to Barak. He would bet that that deep thinking
Vulcan would be able to read the markings on this stone. If he could
find the time he would ask permission to speak to the Marquis officer
on board.
