Background:
Zachary Hogan was found on the planet Mars in the Terran system at an
estimated age of eight years old by botanists Dr. Garnen and Judith Hogan.
He possessed no memory of how he got to Mars and where he was originally
from. Medical examinations revealed he suffered from acute amnesia.
Attempts to restore his memory with neural regenerative techniques failed.
Garnen and Judith legally adopted Zachary when his true parents never came
forward, and raised him until he decided to join Starfleet.

Upon entrance to the Academy, Hogan remained mostly to himself.
Socializing with the other cadets was kept to minimum. Hogan excelled in

Zachary exhibited special talents in the area of military strategy. One
such example is as follows:

Zachary and several other cadets were performing a starship rescue
operation on Training Holodeck 6. They were presented with a situation
where a medical starship was in distress. Investigation revealed the ship
adrift. Unknown to the cadets, the ship's crew was already dead and the
ship had been boarded by pirates. Armed with only an Oberth class science
vessel, the cadets were charged with investigating the missing hospital
ship. Ens. Hogan served as CO during this training mission.
The cadets soon discovered that the hospital ship was neither adrift nor
without crew. The pirates attacked the cadets Oberth class vessel
rendering it nearly helpless as one would anticipate. But using some
novel thinking, Cadet Hogan ordered his ship to close with the pirated SF
vessel and engage a warp bubble. The bubble enclosed the Oberth class
ship of cadets and exactly half of the pirated hospital ship.
Subsequently, the hospital ship was ripped apart by disproportionate
subspace inertias. The cadets received a 100% score on the exercise.

Upon graduation from the academy, Ens. Hogan was assigned to the USS
REGULATOR of cocoon fleet as TAC/SEC officer

Ens. Hogan's first tour of duty was cut short due to classified problems
with the USS REGULATOR.
No disciplinary actions recorded against said officer.
Upon transfer to DS101, promoted to Lt.(jg).
On stardate 90823, said Lt.(jg) promoted to full Lt. by Ruane Graeme
changeling.

Pyschological Analysis

The subject possesses an unusual pyschological mechanism for dealing with
stress. His ability to handle stress is ranked above that determined for
most Vulcans. The origin of this unusual ability is unknown. His
"mechanism" for dealing with stress is also undetermined. Recommend
extreme caution with this subject and regular pysche exams. High
possiblity that the subject could undergo a personality inversion
(resulting in extreme violence) if placed under inordinately high levels
of stress. The level of such a mental disturbance would have to be higher
than any rated stress level to date.
