Filmography: Trained in theatre, Bruce began his acting career in local Vancouver plays before moving on to film and television. Though theatre remains his first love, lately television has been taking up much of his time. He has appeared in episodes of "The Outer Limits," "MacGyver," and "21 Jump Street," as well as "The X-Files." His film credits include "Earth Star Voyager," "The Fly II," "Bye Bye Birdie," and "The X-Files: Fight the Future."

Education: Bruce earned a bachelor's degree in theater arts from the University of British Columbia.

Family: Bruce is married to Heather, a high school teacher
Hobbies: Bruce enjoys reading and skiing. In his youth, he trained as a figure skater, a skill put to good use in "Apocrypha."
Bruce vs. Byers: Similarities - "I think of Byers as a university professor. I'm a pretty bookish person." Differences - "He's too weird, intense, paranoid. And I don't wear suits."
Humble beginnings: Bruce used to work part-time in the Okanagan Regional Library.

The love of theatre: "It's been nearly three years since I've done a play, and I miss it. TV's been taking my time. This year already I've made another Outer Limits episode, and I'm working on a feature film called The Guilty, starring Bill Pullman. I really can't commit to the time required for a play. When I was doing Ann and Will, one of our actresses had to choose between quitting the play a few days before we opened, or turning down a spot on a TV show. She stayed with us, and it cost her $10,000. Believe me, you do theatre for love, not money."
