The following is from Jen in Vancouver -
First off this is going to be pretty short, I'm just too wiped to write a lot at the moment. I've been on a high since some time Sunday night and I've suddenly come off it and lost all my energy. I had a REALLY awesome time tonight.
Before I go into who I got to talk to and where I was I have to thank a guy named Toby (oh if you watch Entertainment Tonight he'll be on it. He's the guy with an "X" tattooed on his arm) any way I met him while I was looking for change for parking. He had been in line since ten in the morning, along with some other people whom I became friends with. It was two-thirty by the time I arrived. We talked for a few minutes and he told me to join him in line, which of course I did. I was one of the first hundred or so people in. We had awesome seats, second row back right in front of the chess game. Having just moved here I want to say how much I love this town already and how wonderful the people are in it. (especially all the people I stood in line with and sat with we had a blast!!!)
Oh the chess game is between a 12 year old American prodigy and a Russian chess champion. The kid is winning and when he does put his second to last move the kid looks around the audience then into the rafters. When the kid puts his opponent in check mate he pushes his chair back just in time for the bullet to miss him and hit and kill his opponent. Bob Goodwin said that the kid has ESP of some kind.
Any way now on to the really fun stuff. David Duchovny was there early on as he had to shoot all night in North Van. I asked him to marry me and he gave me a half smile. He was really gracious and stayed as long as he could. I got some really good pictures of him as he stopped about ten feet directly in front of me.
I also asked Chris Carter who his favorite fanfic author was, I think he said Sue Cohen, but even though he was less the three feet away there were people screaming all around me so I'm not sure.
Gillian Anderson also stopped right in front of me and I got another great photo(s). I asked her if she enjoyed last night. She said that she really had a great time and was happy to be there. On the way out she was almost in tears, she couldn't believe all the people who were there (12,000 plus). She was only supposed to stay for like ten minutes or so, but ended up staying an hour.
Nicholas Lea was also there. Man today must have been my day because he stopped in front of me and answered my question, "What do you think Krychek's true feelings for Mulder are?" He winked at me and then turned serious and said that Krychek's feelings were buried so deep that even he himself probably didn't know what they truly were.
I can't see the screen straight any more. I'm off to get some sleep. The past two days still feel like a dream for me, I'm not sure when it's really going to sink in that I talked to DD, GA, CC, NL and all the other people who were there tonight and last night. Oh if you watch Entertainment Tonight or on May 17, I'm in the second row, fourth over. I'm the only girl in my row. I was wearing a maroon/purple long sleeved shirt and black pants. I held a camera in my right hand the whole time. Also for out side shots, our group at the door was the loudest and rowdiest and quite a few television crews came over to film us. I'll be watching tomorrow night and if I spot myself or some one I hooked up with I'll let you know.
