Filmography: William B. Davis is a veteran actor, director, and teacher. He began his career at the tender age of 11, performing as a child actor on several radio dramas. In 1966, he became the assistant director of the National Theatre School in Montreal, and in 1985, he accepted the position as director of Vancouver Playhouse's acting school. He taught there for several years before opening his own school, the William Davis Centre for Actors' Study, in 1989. He continues to teach there, though he has had to scale back his involvement since his acting career took off.

This is the William Davis Centre for Actor's Study, "Cancerman's" acting school located in downtown Vancouver. I passed it every day on my way to work this summer, but alas, never saw him.

Bill Davis began to pursue acting in earnest around 1980, hoping that this training would help him when teaching or directing. Since then, he has had numerous roles in films, television, and stage productions. His films include "Look Who's Talking," "Omen IV-The Awakening," "Matinee," "Dead Zone," and of course, "The X-Files: Fight the Future." He has had reoccuring roles in series such as "Sliders," "Outer Limits," "North of 60," "Street Justice," and "MacGyver," with guest appearances in several other series.

Education: Bill Davis studied philosophy at the University of Toronto, and was later admitted to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He studied there for a year, and then taught acting at the Royal Shakespeare Company for another five before returning to Canada.

Non-Smoking Please: Davis quit smoking years ago, and smokes herbal cigarettes on the set instead.
Volunteer Work: The Canadian Cancer Society
Hobbies: Outdoor activities, like downhill skiing and competitive waterskiing (he was the national champion in his age category).
Major Obstacle: Davis says he has to watch his vowel sounds when playing a Washington bureaucrat. Who says Canadians don't have an accent? (Well, other than me. )

Quote: Davis describes his character "as the hero. The only way to play the villain is to think that you're right, that you're saving the world. It's the other people who are messing up. It's the Mulders who are really going to make a total mess of this thing, and I've got to fix it. So from my point of view, I believe that I'm doing what's necessary, what's best for the world."
