Under St. John's Bridge in Portland, Oregon

It is said that the ghost of a young lady who was kidnapped, raped, and then left for dead by her assailant at this site in 1949 remains to this day, begging to be relieved of her suffering.

Thelma Taylor was her name, and although the person who kidnapped, raped, bound, and then abandoned the 15-year old to die was caught and put to death, Thelma's screams of agony can still be heard from time to time during the summer months.   The Portland Police receive calls reporting these screams, and upon sending units to investigate find nothing but the park, empty except perhaps for one lonely spirit.
