Background: Kate was raised by her grandfather, a former FBI agent whose fondest wish was to see his granddaughter follow in his footsteps. Everything in her life was dedicated to this goal, but it was put on hold when she got married and had her sons. When her grandfather died, she realized that she was running out of time and came to a decision. Her husband, also an FBI agent, Paul Moran, did not approve and issued an ultimatum - it was either him or her career. She chose the FBI.
Personal philosophy: People spend too much time thinking and worrying about the wrong things. The world would be better off if people would just follow their instincts and do what feels right. She holds firm to the belief that most people are basically good and given the chance will do the right thing.

Qualifications: Kate is a tactical and weapons expert, trained and proficient in the use of a multitude of weapons, and in close quarters and hand-to-hand combat. She is a strategic genius who uses superior intelligence to defeat enemies of superior strength.
Psychological profile: Kate has a quick wit and a quirky sense of humor. Her light-hearted nature can sometimes make it appear that she takes nothing seriously, but that could not be further from the truth.
She is a deep thinker and given even the smallest opening with share her thoughts with anyone who is willing to listen. She is ambitious and determined, and does not take defeat well. She attacks a mystery
with the tenacity of a pit bull and is loath to release her hold until she is satisfied that she has the solution. A skilled lateral thinker, her leaps of logic tend to leave most people baffled, but usually lead her, if not to the answers, then at least to the right questions.
