5:30 ETD, Greek Street

> "Okay, Sandra you come with me," Sari stated. "Kate, Flynn, ask around and > see if there are any friends of the dead girl around. Eithne, find me the > person who found the body. If they won't come, just leave them and point > them out to me later. Dismissed."

Eithne nodded, and turned to survey the scene. . . there were groups of curious onlookers, disturbed but obviously not personally involved, a crowd of sobbing students, and police crowded around the area, some investigating, others attempting to move the persons away.

She chose one of the officers who appeared to be fairly well in charge and walked up, taking out her badge. "Hello, I'm Agent Eithne Llywelyn, with the FBI. I was wondering if you might tell me who it was that first found the body?"

The officer, slightly annoyed at the "intrusion" upon a local case, nodded. "Officer Harris. One of the college kids phoned it in. . . our boys were talking to her, but she's probably just sitting there now." He made a general motion towards a hallway which contained a number of doors and Eithne nearly laughed in amusement as his obvious dislike of the FBI.

"If you would be so kind as to take me to her?" She put more force into her voice this time, and hoped that the officer wouldn't be ridiculous about it.

While he did not look pleased, he began walking in the direction he had pointed her, and turned into a room where a college-age girl was sitting alone, her eyes red, shaking.

Eithne turned towards him and offered a, "Thank you, Officer Harris," as he left, still rather ruffled.

She then turned towards the woman and pulled a chair over, again took out her badge, and began speaking a calming voice.

"Hello, I'm Agent Eithne Llywelyn, from the FBI."

"The FBI? Oh my God. . . they brought the FBI in?" Her eyes opened in fear and alarm.

"Well, we all want to find out who's doing this, and we thought that we might be of assistance. Why don't you tell me your name?"

"Oh. . . sorry. Jennifer Roberts. Do you think that this guy is some kind of psycho? I mean, the FBI. . . I just. . . never pictued this happening here. . . " She broke off, almost beginning to cry again, and Eithne waited.

"It's okay, Jennifer. We're just trying to help. Now, were you the first to find her body?"

Jennifer nodded slowly, almost nervously, and when she began to speak, it was in bits and pieces, as though she had no idea whether she ought to say each thing until she did, and even then was not certain. "I ... I think so. I mean ... someone else ... would have phoned it in, right? If they had found ... if they had found her. So ... so I guess so. I mean, yeah."

"How did you find her? Did you happen into the room by chance?"

This question seemed to almost terrify the poor girl, and it took her a short while to begin her answer. "I was going to get something from a friend, and I decided to stop in the room on the way there, because another one of my friends, she's usually there at that time."

"Did you know her?"

"Erika? Not ... not really, as well as most people, but I couldn't really ~not~ know her. I mean, everyone on campus knows Erika, and her being a Greek and all ... "

"Everyone on campus knows her?"

Jennifer nodded. "Erika's so popular - I mean, so was so pretty, and so smart. And nice, too - so many people like that are so uppity, but Erika never was." She hugged herself, and Eithne chewed on her lip. She'd thought something like this might happen.

"Were the other girls like that, too? Popular, pretty, smart. . . ?"

Jennifer looked nervous, but shook her head, reluctantly. Eithne would have liked to ask her a little more along the same lines, but she decided not to, as it appeared that the wrong question might make her jump up and run out, she was so upset.

She instead changed the topic to, "Are you a member of Delta Pi as well?"

She nodded, and began to cry softly again. "Any of us could be next, do you realize that? Any of us!"

Eithne reached over and took her hand. "Don't worry, Jennifer, that's why ~we're~ here - to make sure that doesn't happen. My team is going to do all we can to try and make sure that it ~doesn't~ happen to any of you next, and the more you tell me, the better we can do that job."

This only furthered Jennifer's sobs, and what she said was almost unintelligable, but sounded something like, "Tell ~you~! Just like that, tell some outsider everything ... " she continued to cry, and Eithne dismissed most of what she said as the products of a combination of fear for her own safety and shock at finding the body. However, she did say one thing which made Eithne take notice very quickly. Between sobs, so that Eithne could not even be certain she had heard it correctly, she said, " ... ~they~ probably told someone! If I told, that would just be ~asking~ to be next ..."

She then broke off, and Eithne stood. "Would you like me to go get you some hot tea or something?"

Jennifer looked up and nodded.

"All right. Now, I'm going to go get you a cup of tea, and you just stay here. When I get back I'd like to take you to see another agent."

Jennifer suddenly looked very shocked, and Eithne almost decided to just take her then and there, but she quickly surpressed the look. "I'd really like some tea ... and if it can help, I'd be happy to ... to talk to ... to whoever it is you want me to talk to ..."

Eithne smiled softly. "We're here to help you, okay?"

Jennifer nodded, and Eithne left to get her the tea. It took her a little while, but she eventually got the beverage. Just as she opened the door, she saw a second door close as someone left, and Jennifer was no longer in the room.

She furrowed her brow, put down the tea, and ran after her, but there was no one to be seen in the hallway.

Cursing under her breath, she tried to find where the girl could have gone.
